If you mean the Tunguska event it was apparently caused by a fragment of a comet exploding in the atmosphere.

If you mean the Tunguska event it was apparently caused by a fragment of a comet exploding in the atmosphere. yeah I mean I can't really see any other real explanation being feasible at all, nukes didn't exist yet and Extraterrestrial life wasn't a thing yet so what was a cause.

It has happened around the world a few times since too, but so far nothing has been anywhere near the size and scale of Tunguska.
