The great actor and star James Caan has passed away at age 82. He first rose to fame in the made-for-TV film BRIAN'S SONG, where he played football player Brian Piccolo who befriended Gale Sayers (played by Billy Dee Williams), and who tragically died young from cancer. But his breakout role was as Sonny Corleone in THE GODFATHER. The scene of his assassination by a rival crime family at a highway toll booth is unforgettable! He made many more films, and now, his son Scott is following in his footsteps. RIP, James Caan. Goodbye Mr. Caan and thanks for the memories.

I'd like to echo spiderwort's heartfelt message following the passing of Rebecca Balding. And also, to offer my sincere thanks to you, teleadm, for remembering her. She was one of author Stephen King's favourite horror performers, and with good reason, due to two the iconic roles you've mentioned.
Thanks, Ms. Balding ... you'll be missed.

R.I.P., indeed.
Wally Cleaver ... That hits close to my childhood memories.
Paul Sorvino ... Great talent, but I most fondly remember the Oscar ceremony where his daughter, Mira Sorvino won for her performance in Mighty Aphrodite. He was sitting in the first row, and was so proud that burst into tears, and didn't make any attempt to hide it. Sweet.
