MY Favourite Betty quote
INTERVIEWER: Is there anything that you still haven't done yet in your life that you'd really like to?

BETTY (Not missing a beat) Robert Redford.
In the "Chuckles Bites the Dust" episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Sue Ann Nivens fantasized about her funeral, saying that she wants to be cremated and have her "ashes thrown on Robert Redford." C'mon, Bob, be a sport. The only one who had a negative thing to say about her was Golden Girls co-star Bea Arthur, who would retreat to her dressing room between scenes on the show while Ms. White would take the time to chat and joke around with the studio audience. She was apparently just too NICE for Arthur's taste. R.I.P. to a lovely actress and devoted animal activist.

Just brilliant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. And always delightful just being herself on Password. RIP

She did play a serious role as a U.S. Senator in ADVISE AND CONSENT in 1962.
But when she was funny -- she was SO funny.

The clip of Betty's feature film debut as the Junior Senator from Kansas in "Advise and Consent" (1962). Already, her humor and charisma are evident as she slaps down George Grizzard.

It occurs to me that today's news actually reflects good fortune for all.
Yes, we lost Betty White.
She had the good fortune to enjoy longevity, while being; lovely/beautiful, intelligent, talented, caring, witty, successful, and highly admired.
We had the good fortune to enjoy everything that she had to give, for decades.
That's a Win-Win.

We had the good fortune to enjoy everything that she had to give, for decades. and thanks to the ubiquitous re-run channels ... we still can ! The essence of true immortality is to become part of collective memory.

I was hoping—no, scratch that, expecting—that she’d figure out a way to beat the odds and live forever. Damn it. Rest in peace, Miss White.

There's so much to say about this remarkable woman. What a life she lived, what a gift she was, what a legacy she leaves. Words fail. Here she is, singing. It seems there was nothing she couldn't, and didn't, do. Rest in Peace, beloved Betty White. You will be missed, and remembered.
