Just curious what is on your reading list for 2022.
I didn’t have a lot of time to read in 2021 but resolution is to make time in 2021.

I am currently re-reading the original Foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov. I am halfway through the second book, and will read the third one next. After that, I may or may not read the sequels. I haven't decided yet.
I started reading "Quo Vadis", the historical novel that takes place in Rome during Nero's reign, by Polish Nobel Prize-winner Henryk Sienkewicz, but set it aside when the Foundation e-books became available from the library. As soon as I finish those, I will resume "Quo Vadis".
These two are at the top of my list after I finish the ones I mentioned above:
"Klara and the Sun", by Nobel Prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro.
The new book by Andy Weir (the author of "The Martian") - "Project Hail Mary"
Then there is also "Vers la Beauté" by David Foenkinos, which I started reading last year but set aside after a few chapters for some reason I can't remember, even though I was very much enjoying it. I will have to start from the beginning when I get around to it.

I'll be lucky to finish any book.
I'm currently reading Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith. About 40% through it. Pretty good so far. I've seen Hitchcock's film a few times.
After that, I'll maybe go back to reading some more short stories by Flannery O'Connor. I have her Complete Works.

War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy, and Life and Fate, by Vasily Grossman. Two giant novels about war in Russia separated by a hundred or so years of history. They've been sitting on my shelf for a while.

I'm gonna read The toynbee conventor. Even though i already read some. And so far, it is clearly when this author was well past his prime. It isn't very good.

I typically read 60+ books a year and have a large "To Read" shelf and usually just scan over it an grab whatever strikes me at the moment. But here are a bunch that I have towards the top for this year (and the reason why I have targeted them, if anyone cares):
Children of Dune by Frank Herbert (Started in 2020 - already finished) The War for Late Night by Bill Carter (Started in 2020 - already finished) Grief Is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter (I read Lanny last year and really loved it - currently reading) At Play in the Field of the Lord by Peter Matthiessen (I read Shadow Country last year and really loved it - currently reading) Joseph Anton: A Memoir by Salman Rushie (Up next - I just got it out from the library) The Death of Francis Bacon by Max Porter (see Grief is The Thing with Feathers above) Comanche Moon by Larry McMurtry (I have been working my way through the Lonesome Dove books and this is the final one) For We Are Many by Dennis E Taylor(Bobiverse #2) (My sister gave me the first three books of this series last year and I have 2 left) All These Worlds by Dennis E Taylor (Bobiverse #3) The Recognitions by William Gaddis (I try to read at lease one long "difficult" book each year - this is my 2022 target) The Odyssey by Homer (I try to read at least one "old" work as well) A Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (I read this in High School many many years ago and it is time for a revisit) My Life as a Man by Philip Roth (I like Roth's writing and haven't read this one yet) Oblivion by David Foster Wallace (Same as above) The Island of the Day Before by Umberto Eco (Same) The Sea Came in at Midnight by Steve Erickson (Same) The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro (Same) number9dream by David Mitchel (Same)
