Well, this is obviously unsurprising given the story, but yeah, Linsey will be returning this month. Don't think we know if it's to wrap up Sarah's kidnapping or more permanently.

Not surprised but glad to hear it. I hope it's permanent but I'm not going to hold my breath. I don't HATE Gwen and Xander, but I think I like him better with Sarah.

Not surprised but glad to hear it. I hope it's permanent but I'm not going to hold my breath. I don't HATE Gwen and Xander, but I think I like him better with Sarah. That's how I feel. Gwen and Xander has been fine, and a nice use of the characters absent anything better going on, and it made sense given that Gwen is Jack's daughter and Xander humorously like... declared himself Jack's BFF, but I haven't seen like a lot of chemistry and I think Xander is better paired with someone a little different from him rather than someone cut from the same cloth. It actually seems like Sarah's return maybe permanent. So, on Daytime Royalty, we often see social media photos taken in the dressing rooms, and in the dressing room they always have this cast photo chart and it often becomes visible like out of focus in the background but from there you can learn a lot of surprising casting details, and apparently as of filming recently, Linsey appears to be on contract. But obviously, as we've said, the meaning of "contract" has gotten vague. Matt's on contract (still, as of this week, according to the chart I'm citing) and Jack... doesn't live in Salem. Meanwhile Missy is listed on the same chart as recurring and yet, there's evidence to suggest Cady McClain may actually be back. So who knows what's going on.

I saw Cady posted something about being back working on a show but didn't say which show so everyone is wondering if it's Days.
I am all for them wrapping up storylines, to bring someone back so that the character staying can move on, like what they did with Eric and Nicole.
What bugs me is the in and out stuff, like with Alison. Those of us dying for a Lumi reunion just got ripped off AGAIN after all these years because they are gone now. We don't even get to see them be a couple, and then when they come back I am sure it will be to blow them up when it comes out Lucas kidnapped Sami. ugh this whole story is pissing me off.
Anyway, I am glad they are bringing Sarah back to resolve her whereabouts, and hopefully, she stays. I was reminded of her baby talk and I hope that is NOT coming back.

Well I am another fan of Xarah. I like Gwen a lot more than I used to but I definitely liked the chemistry between Xander and Sarah more. However, I had a blast with the gay baiting between Xander and Leo because it was hysterical. They played it out well on the Christmas special as well. Although I thought Chad, Will and Sonny in drag again was a bit much. Billy Flynn sure seems to enjoy doing drag.
I’m just really happy that Linsey is returning to the show because I remember hearing that Adrienne Franz was being considered for a Sarah recast. But I guess that was just a rumor.
Lastly, I really would love to see Cady come back as Jennifer. Missy just doesn’t seem to have her heart in the show anymore and Cady did a great job. Plus, if she’s on contract it will give Jack and Jennifer more to do on the show.

I still haven't watched the Christmas special - it did not air here except for on a streaming platform I refuse to pay for - $14/month! Not when I already have all the others.
Anyway, I agree I never liked Adrienne Franz so glad she is not coming on, just dealing with her on Beyond Salem was enough for me. I liked Sarah when she first started but then the baby talk was out of control, coupled with her just being angry and aggressive all the time. But glad she is back, if for nothing than to resolve her absence.
Totally agree about Cady and Missy...the scenes with her were weird this time around. As a longtime J&J fan, it was hard to watch.

I thought it was just me. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Matt and Melissa this time around and maybe because it was short lived? Also, perhaps Missy’s outspokenness on her political and religious views have just turned off her fellow cast mates? I remember several years ago that Matthew Ashford was very involved with the Democratic Party. So, maybe he’s had enough of Missy’s views? I just wish actors and other celebrities would keep their political views to themselves. Linsey hasn’t helped the situation but let’s face it. The writers would rather be writing for a younger leading character than a legacy character in their late 50s or 60s. I’m actually surprised that Days is really sticking by with the older characters. Heck, Marlena and John are still front and center on the show.

I have no idea if personal politics are coming into play but it just seems off this time around. I think Melissa is well-liked but some cast members, probably the ones who have worked with her a long time. I just think as you said, she didn't seem too interested. The scenes with Gwen were weird, and I felt like she was not really supporting her daughter and I thought that was strange.
