My fav Hitch. Stewart, Grace, + the nurse & his friend, are great on-screen performances, balancing each one another out perfectly. Love the hot summer atmosphere, the variety of nameless 'characters', & layers of intrigue & suspense.

8/10 I have only seen it once, and might have to give it a re-watch anytime soon, and compared to Vertigo (which I gave a 9/10), Rear Window was one rating below it.

It was quite a surprise to me the first time I saw it. Almost the entire movie is contained in one room with views to other apartments.
Yet it doesn't have a claustrophobic feel to it.
I loved the plot, too.
10/10

Kinda reminds me of the Belafonte from Life Aquatic. In one of the articles I read about this movie - or it might have been a commentary recorded on audio or something - I heard that the set became a kind of tourist attraction even while they were still filming. In the initial scene where the camera is looking at the neighborhood, one of the upper floors shows a camera flash going off as the camera pans by the apartment building. This camera flash was tourists but they left it in the movie since they figured (I guess) that ordinary people do take photos in their homes so why worry about it?

though i'm a little hesitant to make the distinction, it may just be my favorite of Hitchcock's.

I saw that as a teen, pretty solid. I guess it lacked some of his more mystical Hitch charm.

It's a flawless film. Beautifully directed and acted and has there every been a more beautiful woman than Grace Kelly in this film? One of my favorite 50s films. 10/10

7.5/10 - Used to be an 8, but saw it again recently, and it dropped a tad.

Watched it again recently after rating it 10/10 awhile back.
Excellent movie - it really stands up over 60 years later!!

Changing my vote to a 10. There isn't a single flaw and I think it's my favorite Hitchcock movie.

Excellent movie - it really stands up over 60 years later!! I can't handle math like that. I just realized that beyond The Wizard of Oz, RW is by far the earliest colour film in my top 50, & it's not really close.
