.......due to the pandemic and the related inventory shortages ?? The other day I was at our local (Milwaukee area) Walmart, and was pleasantly surprised to find they finally had the large size (30+ rolls) of Scott toilet paper that we usually buy, which I hadn't seen in stock at that particular store (in that particular size) since before the pandemic began (not saying they never had it, just saying that every time I was there looking for it, they never had that particular "jumbo" size in stock). How is it in other parts of the country ?? Are there any things you still are unable to find on a regular basis, whether it's food, drink, or other types of home supply items that you use on a regular, or semi-regular basis ?? SAVE FERRIS

1. catfood variety shrank crazy! All over Brooklyn you can only get a few types of friskies wetfood, there used to be like a dozen types now its 2-3. For months now. 2. Aloe vera Cottonelle toilet paper . RIP. Yeah I know its very spoilt of me to be sad over a fancy toilet paper but it used to be in every common supermarket here and now is gone. For almost two years now. I dont think its coming back 3. Good bread. As in βeuropeanβ or bread with more fiber/ grain than sugar. We only have the typical sweatened american soft bread in most stores now daily, and good bread only occasionally and its gone quick. It used to be normal. Oh I miss my almond protein bread or pumpernickel or wholewheat sourdough... anything that doesn add sugar or other sweatners in it is so hard to find these days. Since the pandemic started I mean. Thank god its not worse of course

NoraA bread machine will solve the bread problem. I mix my dry ingredients and have them in jars and only have to add the wet ingredients and the yeast. Even when measuring totally from scratch can have a loaf in the machine before the coffee is ready in the morning.

The reason for this seems to be that there's an aluminum shortage, with the prizes going up steeply, affecting all types of canned goods. Some people are already stockpiling wetfood for their pets.

Miko will eat pretty much anything. So far, getting the from Chewy hasn't been a problem ... but time will tell.

I haven't had any problem finding the products that I have been used to. However, Oakland, CA., is a major port, and this area doesn't seem to be showing a lack. I don't know if the availability of aluminium, or other packaging supplies, will result in eventual shortages.
However, I remember that the price of gas plummeted, in the early days of "lock down." I always like to walk, or use public transport, where possible. Yesterday, I had to gas up, as it was my turn to drive a small group to a scheduled outing. It had been weeks since I had been to a station, and I think I paid somewhere in the "high" $3.00 range. Yesterday, it was $5.00/gallon. (Actually, I inflated that, somewhat. It was only $4.99 9/10. Forgive me.)
I'll continue to walk, and take public transit, where possible.

If a persnickety anything gets hungry enough they will eat what is available. Not necessarily. Miko decided she no longer cared for the dry food offered and actually lost quite a bit of weight. Switched to another dry food and she's back to eating everything in the bowl. Now what to do with the two large bags of food she doesn't like ... yeah, the local shelter will probably take it.

If a persnickety anything gets hungry enough they will eat what is available. thats what we thought as well but they simply can hold out physically starving themselves for longer than we can take mentally listening to them meow in dispair. thats what it comes down to. us breaking because they are not only loud but make it sound like they are DYING . On days when there is snowstorm or something and we only have the flavor they dont like they will simply not eat anything. seem easy for them. And will raise hell at night. I can totally see them lose weight over it rather than caving in. Meat I think they simply dont consider edible at all. They back away from it if you offer it to them. Weird. We adopted them at 10 yo, who knows what they have been through before and how that affected their habits. I suspect some abuse since they are scared of brooms and bags...
