Filmed in Hungary in 1983 - uncompleted after someone absconded with the budget. Some company called GBGB international finished it off last year after a fashion and it is now on bluray for our delectation. The glittering cast is headed by Steve Inwood, Deborah Raffin, Louise Fletched and John Rhys Davies... but I imagine the presence of George Clooney, Charlie Sheen and Laura Dern in small parts is what will pull in the punters. Timothy Spall also has a bit but I guess he has not permeated the consciousness of GBGB. I'm kind of tempted anyone Recommend it?

Heard about it. Doubt I’ll watch it.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea that the original got a sequel to begin with. I saw it when I was a mere eleven-year old and knew it was crap then. The trailer for this doesn't exactly inspire me to want to see more.

I might check it out if I come across it, but I'm not going to go out of my way to search for it. Strange how it was filmed in Hungary of all places.

I believe Grizzly extras cost less in Hungary none of the dvds are available for less than twenty quid - if it comes on Amazon Prime for £2.49 I'd risk it. GBGB are staking a lot on Clooney's name's marquee value on a dvd cover... but then people actually paid to watch ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES or somesuch that got a wide VHS release on the back of his ER fame. Whatever the value of the film you gotta love that tagline 37 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Well I didn't want to get left behind so I now have GRIZZLY under my belt. Pretty ropey JAWS wannabe - nubile campers getting their limbs ripped off by the bear. But director William Girdler caught my eye He directed 9 audacious movies including THE ZEBRA KILLER about a "blackface" serial killer, Pam Grier's SHEBA BABY, and THE MANITOU, in which Susan Strasberg gets cursed by a Native American spirit and grows a foetus the size of a grapefruit on her neck. He died in a helicopter smash days after completing the last movie (a huge posthumous hit). I have three to watch and I'll have seen the lot. SHEBA BABY the keeper so far. His DAY OF THE ANIMALS got this comment from Maltin " Final score Beasts 7, Cast nil (in acting as well as survival"
and how could THREE ON A MEATHOOK pass me by? I have that and ABBY (he got sued by Warners on that) to watch! I'm hoping GRIZZLY 2 is a smash - GBGB might take a punt on GRIZZLY 3D, or FOUR ON A MEATHOOK

It's pretty much what you think it is... Barely 70 minutes. With some nature shots put in to pad out the time. The concert footage takes up some time until the quick finale... With the limited footage they had they did the best they could do. Most of the action happens at the beginning.
Part 1 is superior for me. But part 2 is okay as a mild curiosity. Nothing more. Nothing less.
