Yes that Julie Christie BILLY LIAR, DARLING, DR ZHIVAGO, FAHRENHEIT 451, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD, PETULIA, THE GO BETWEEN, DONT LOOK NOW, SHAMPOO, HEAT AND DUST, a creditable SEPARATE TABLES for TV (although obvs the "frumpover" she got for sybil Railton Bell wasn't very persuasive

) .. all the way to AWAY FROM HER. She probably had a 25 year star run in the cinema - 1989s FOOLS OF FORTUNE saw her first "and also starring" billing as the mum.... although most of her 80s work was in lower profile fayre and/or flops (and she turned down some biggies - AMERICAN GIGOLO, UNDER FIRE... although she was wise to pass up THE GREEK TYCOON). After a break she came back in featured roles in big studio movies (DRAGONHEART, TROY, FINDING NEVERLAND, a bit in a HARRY POTTER) and the occasional "indie" lead (AFTERGLOW and AWAY FROM HER got oscar nods).

Am trying to "complete" on Julie's CV and a couple are proving elusive - sources welcome if anyone can help

Mostly TV stuff

I located SNAPSHOTS (Amazon prime) , KARAOKE & COLD LAZARUS, NO SUCH THING (all youtube)online

the obscure CHAMPAGNE AMER/SECRET OBSESSION is on youtube filmed 86 (possibly not completed) but a US VHS release in 89 and at French cinemas in 94. Not very coherent dual time frame ....but Julie does get to sing SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES at 40 mins 30 seconds in - at least I think that her voice

a VHS of MISS MARY and a cheap BELPHEGOR dvd en route to me

also THE RAILWAY STATION MAN which I have high hopes for

A FOR ANDROMEDA sounds like a must - is it worth the £50 plus it will cost for dvd? EDIT seems not - only final episode survives on DAILY MOTION

aside from an uncredited but in episode 1 she was not in ANDROMEDA BREAKTHROUGH - Susan Hampshire got the gig!

Her SAINT episode in a box set

I'm guessing her TV DANGEROUS CORNER from 63 and episode of CALL OXBRIDGE 2000 lost

FATHERS AND SONS an 8hr German mini from 1986 with Burt Lancaster - full version with English subs or audio can be found but a bit expensive - is it any good?

The only completely MIA cinema release movie is THE ROARING 40s, from 1982, an expensive French drama about a yachting race cheating scandal - not exported

Darling Julie as she is now (or recently anyway)... the article I got image from dated 2019 although of course it could predate that

Thanks - I had a hunch that one might be the pick of the litter and as a huge DONT LOOK NOW fan the Sutherland reunion a big pull. It had its UK premiere on TV and vanished thereafter ...Difficult to track down - vicpine aka Vics Rare Films had a copy.

MEMOIRS OF A SURVIVOR tomorrow morning - lousy reviews but I'm curious.

She just kind of disappeared from focus after Heaven Can Wait 1978.

Remember Demon Seed, yes made in 1977, but released later, maybe 1979/1980, and lambasted by the press were I live. The posters pushing Fritz Weaver of Holocaust fame.

Yes DEMON SEED was not well received and she got flak for "demeaning" herself.

She didn't disappear of course, just chose smaller less commercial efforts to lend her name to (MEMOIRS OF A SURVIVOR, the Sally Potter) and selected the wrong projects that aspired to wider release. After a long period under the scrutiny of being Warren's main squeeze no wonder she elected to go and live on a farm in Wales. The only post HEAVEN CAN WAIT movie she made as a star to score was HEAT AND DUST (and most of the publicity for that focused on new girl Greta Scacchi's story arc).

THE RETURN OF THE SOLDIER - which reunited her with Alan Bates, and also had Glenda Jackson and Ian Holm among the cast, from memory had a problematic shoot re financing and took a while to reach (a few) UK cinemas, but was not even the anticipated middlebrow arthouse success... and she had an unsympathetic part as the cold wife (an unexpected Ann-Margret as the cousin stole the reviews).

POWER - which in theory was a return to big bucks films (and incidentally, cast her with Richard Gere and Gene Hackman,of AMERICAN GIGOLO and UNDER FIRE fame that she turned down), again had production problems/delays and was a turkey of epic proportions (by far the worst thing I have seen her in). In some marketing her name/image has been removed from its 1986 original prominent placing to make way for more current names! Fame can be fickle!
