Thatβs in the article I posted. Nate Silver thinks itβs a terrible choice. I used 'strep' for a bunch of days. I don't know what statisticians say about that choice, but I thought it was a good idea. I posted a link to this site earlier in the thread:- www.lexico.com/explore/which-letters-are-used-mostSo STREP looks pretty good apart from the P which is only in 3.1671% of words. If you could replace the P with an A and come up with a word (?) you'd be looking good...

I looked into this for the first time today and I was immediately turned off that itβs one word a day. Who has that kind of patience?

THEIR - I want my e, i, r, & t out of the gate. When e & i are vacant, it floods open the a &/or o options right away. The letter n is overrated. The letter h is underrated. An article I saw where a guy collected a whole bunch of data about this stuff that I didn't care to try to comprehend too much used 'Raise' initially to get to that same goal, but presumably 'Raise' is better because of the extra vowel and the low value of the letter 'H.' But he also concluded that the best opener was 'orate' based on whatever it was that he said. I think I'm riding THEIR until my first loss. I don't mind 3 consonants.

I like the one-a-day limit. I have been playing the archived puzzles (link available earlier on this thread) and I've found that if I do more than two or three in a row I start to lose patience and take wild guesses that usually don't end well.

Bizarrely then went on Twitter to see "Wordle 223 X" trending, so I guess I'm not alone today! I got it on 6 but almost exclusively due to a very lucky guess at 5 that was one letter off. To that point I had 3 letters known but no idea where they belonged.
