As funny as this announcement is (Allen must really need the money), I wouldn’t draw attention to it if I didn’t think a movie in this series has the potential to be good. The original movie has some solid jokes in it (“I lived through the ’60s”), at least before it turns all sappy in its second half. Of course, in all likelihood this one’s going to end up another Santa Clause 3.
