What I missed most from the old IMDb are the film specific board. I love going to the board after seeing a movie and see what others say or comment the movie myself. You can still do that on movie chat.org, although the traffic is a fraction of that of the old IMDb boards. Moviechat also has all the dead movie-specific boards from IMDb. Thanks. I did try that place back in 2017, and went back occasionally to check out. Unfortunately, the traffic there is stagnant. The board seemed to be posted mostly by several people only who sounded like adolescence. There aren't that many well thought out posts there, and I get a feeling a serious post will not be taking seriously. In the old IMDb board, a new movie, you see a new post about every hour. In some cases with the very popular films, every few minutes. There are usually some good thoughts in some of those posts.

It was great to de-brief immediately afterwards, ask questions, get reactions. I also liked reading the boards of favorite TV series like Mad Men, Six Feet Under, The Wire and others. Yes, each of these boards have their own community. I was in the Titanic, Seinfeld, Gone with the Wind, 24 board community.

Only the most popular movies have any traffic, and the quality of the discussions is dismal.

I used to post on the IMDb boards. Then when it closed, or just before, I saw this board was starting up, so I joined. I like this board, but I still miss the old IMDb ones. I wish they'd bring those back. What I missed most from the old IMDb are the film specific board. I love going to the board after seeing a movie and see what others say or comment the movie myself. This! That's how I started on the old boards then found the sports board and started posting. I used to like to go to a movie board or a tv show after the latest episode came out.

I was a regular on the old board. Used to post quite a bit. Then when this opened up I joined. I posted a bit but not very long. Then I just stopped for a few years. Just made my way back here somewhat recently. Glad I did. Lots of good posters on here. Less trolls then the old boards as well.
I do miss the old boards though. There were some hidden gems in there. The Karate Kid III board was hilarious! It was mostly people who didn't like the Daniel character and who preferred Johnny and the Cobra Kai's. It was mostly tongue in cheek. I wish that board was still around with the emergence of the Cobra Kai series!

Pops and BoSoxRule (BoSuxFool) v. Marco and Strel. I stayed out of it for the most part. It took me a while to get used to Marco and Strel. and Beardy, forgot about Beardy! Forgot Wolfman, the fan of all things Pittsburgh, deusexmachina, undocorkscrew, the baseball fact king, Tristam, vincentlecaviellerswife. And the infamous Danielle_Campbell. I know I've forgot some
Strel was an interesting character. He was a regular in the Classic Film Board too. Very smart fellow, but gets very angry easily to rile up the place. He does apologize when he realize he is wrong, at least to me. He suddenly disappeared. The board did miss his presence. Yeah, I didn't care for Strelnikof at first. At first ,I thought him to be an average internet tough guy. Until a long talk about The Bridge on the River Kwai. Same with Beardy and Marco. Only one I didn't care for was vincelecaviellerswife. Little Miss Pure until her infamous "tampon tale". DeNiro was so full of shit but he could be amusing at times and in small doses.

I was friends with her on FB, then she had a stroke or something because out of nowhere, she became this mega-weird, attention-whoring caricature of herself. Not sure what happened there, but I have no patience for people whose sole function on the internet is attention-getting. That's why most trolls are more pathetic than they are actually bothersome. It's like, tell me you have a crippling inferiority complex without telling me you have a crippling inferiority complex.

Talk about female posters, many of these boards do miss a feminine perspective in many of the thread. I remember in Seinfeld board, someone started a thread about "I don't have a square to spare" The Stall episodes. All of us dudes just speculate on how many squares does a woman need, and how a woman would execute in such situation. That thread expressing our ignorance was hilarious.

One of things I like about the crypto discords where I spend more and more time lately is that it has a strong female population. It's refreshing to get more perspectives on things. That's hilarious though, about the Seinfeld board.

This was carried over on moviechat.org. lol... and yes, people also talk about the Cobra Kai series over there.
I get tired of watching that movie trend on mc.org though. It's such a crappy film.

Like, he was to Reese Witherspoon what AH Fan was to Tom Brady. That was all he talked about and he would go on these amazing rants about she was a soul-crushing sucubus who had no business being in Hollywood or successful. It was actually really funny when you realized that it was all a joke. I wonder how that dude would spin it now that she's as insanely successful as she is.

The fact that the movie was complete shit only added to the humor of the board. They had some of the funniest posts I saw on the boards. And Terry Silver being so over the top helped with the posts as well.

"It was actually really funny when you realized that it was all a joke." That was the beauty of the Karate Kid III board. People would stumble on there and see all these posts hating Daniel and loving Terry Silver, John Kreese, and saying Johnny was the real victim and they didn't know it was all, well mostly, in good fun. They'd take it serious and get all fired up. Then they'd realize.
