Unless I'm missing something, I can't find it. Is it because the word fuck was in the subject Admin? Are we not allowed to curse here? I've seen profanity all over the site. And if that is why it was deleted, why not just edit the subject? It was a legitimate conversation. There was no trolling or personal attacks. Anyway, I'd still like to have a thread discussing this topic, because it's one of the most glaring issues I had with the movie. Are they 1. simply a result of poor writing? 2. not Engineers (and just another species they created)? 3. normal Engineers and the ones in Prometheus genetically engineered for military purposes? 4. just another race of Engineers? I want there to be a purpose behind it, but I fear that it is number one. I was initially leaning towards number two, but then I realized David would not have any real reason to kill them – although you could argue that his superiority complex and insanity could be his motive. He seemed to want to end all life he viewed as inferior and do that with his "perfect organism". I think number three is definitely a possibility. When you think of how they looked in Prometheus, it makes sense. They were all extremely fit, had no blemishes, etc. That kind of flawlessness doesn't come naturally. I wouldn't have a problem buying into number four, however we have been shown twice now (Prometheus and Covenant) that large groups of the species look exactly alike.

Even more bizarre/frustrating is that the engineers in the poster clearly look like the ones from Prometheus:

Cursing is against the terms of service for proboards. You're better off not using them in thread titles at the very least.

I want them just to be a coloney far removed from their homeworld. They've lived so far from the rest of their race for so long that over the generations they've adapted to that world which brought on physical changes. It's just wishful thinking at this point.

I don't think that it's wishful thinking. It's basically the reverse of what the possibilities that I laid out. I think it's very possible that can be the case. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that the humanoids Alien Covenant to look surprised by the appearance of a ship. If anything, they look like they revered it. If a 2000-year-old missing spaceship showed up, they wouldn't have been so casual about its appearance.
