49ers to Q-Aaron: "We own you"

Both the #1 seeds are knocked out. That week off can wreck a team. Both Green Bay and Tennessee looked discombobulated. Green Bay got the #1 by playing a weak schedule. Only five playoff team, two (Pittsburgh and Arizona were weak playoff teams). Kudos to the Niners defense but there's no way a team should lose a playoff game at home due to special teams. And I'm betting Rodgers stays in Green Bay. This has to leave a lousy taste in his mouth. And I still believe that Rodgers doesn't want to be another Joe Namath, Johnny Unitas, Brett Favre, playing out his career in a strange uniform. I would want my career arc to be more like Elway, Marino, Bradshaw, Staubach than Joe Montana. Then again, he still has game. Maybe he will be another Peyton Manning. I don’t care if he keeps playing, just not in the NFC North. Anywhere but there.

49ers to Q-Aaron: "We own you" Niners fans were haunted by the fact that they drafted Alex Smith instead of Rodgers but made up for it by watching the Niners beat him in the playoffs every time they played him.

When is the last time both number one seeds lost the first playoff game they played? 2010 Patriots & Falcons. Was that when the Jets knocked out the Pats?

Tough loss for Rodgers and the Packers. But you're not going to win very many games with 55 passing yards in the 2nd half. I never thought I'd ever say this but Jimmy Garoppolo outplayed Arron Rodgers on the frozen snow filled tundra in Green Bay.

I’m very happy for the Kitties. Looking forward to my Packers possibly beating them down in t he Super Bowl. As for the salt in this topic, keep drinking that Haterade losers, my Packers are winning it all this year.

First year of the 7 seed format and the coveted #1 seed bye turns out to be a crock pot full of Leprechaun shit! Just go up to 8 seeds in each conference NFL, no more byes.

Idk if we got any 9ers fans here but if so congrats on the team win. They deserved it. I hope the 9ers go to the SB and lose to the Bengals (sorry).

Analysts: It's tough to win a playoff game at Lambeau
Me: Yeah, especially if you are the home team apparently! Green Bays playoff losses in recent years have kinda negated the "home advantage" mythology because Lambeau is a frozen hell hole for both teams! Both teams trying to toddler run on that permafrost without tearing out their knees and ankles, maybe if the Packers signed a couple of Caribou to the receiver corps they would have a better shot at it.
Didn't help that the Packers special teams put the "special" in the title.

Neither 7 seed made much of a case for having any business being in the post season whatsoever. I did think the bye for the 1 seed gave them a big advantage, but no evidence of that in these two games.

Rodgers remains a choker! After this, no way he can even be considered a top 5 QB of all time.
SF looked iffy at best and still beat his team at home. He needs to retire or find a new team. Obviously that GB connection isn’t working.

In case anyone wants a good laugh (most here I'm sure would at this teams expense) the Packers special teams unit not only gave up tons of return yards on kick offs, allowed a blocked FG, allowed a blocked punt for a TD, on the game winning FG they didn't even realize they only had 10 players on the field. What a laughable shit show that unit has been for a while. (I choose to laugh otherwise I would break something or bones)
Funny thing is, Lafleur when hired wanted to hire a special teams coach who I believe has been in New Orleans since (and been good) only for the Packers front office to low ball him on money only to meet his asking price later only for him to say "fuck off".

C'mon:
The Packers were the #1 seeded team, the overall #1, they had their precious bye week and actually no injuries - at least not from the wild card round- , they had the home advantage, und they played the #6 team (not the Bucs, Rams, Chiefs or Bills). Now to say it was their special unit...those guys next to all team give a damn about: no.
Weren't the Bengals the only team which drafted a kicker? Did it pay off?!
The Packers chocked big time, and many teams should reconsider their approach to kickers, punters and other specialists who are always the runt of the litter in their teams.

If they still need a special teams coach, I hear Joe Judge is available.

This was a great play for 75 yards at the time. But why does Jones have his head swiveled the whole time when Tartt (the strong safety) is so far from him? Should he have just turned it up to full speed down the sideline, in stead of waiting to try to deke him?
Sure he might have been tripped up from behind by Dontae Johnson, but he'd have had a good chance to score a TD. They end up with a blocked FG and zero points.
