Sorry fellow 'world' posters - didn't want to come across ignorant - When I say 'foreign', I'm talking outside of my own home country of the States - feel free to add yours. Top 5. My list. For my own personal tastes, I'm combining 'threat', persona, mic skills, main event status to the champ, etc. I.E. - just because you wore a turban and were called 'The Sheik' - it doesn't make you a threat in my eyes (yeah - I know I'm ignorant to the fact I've never seen one 'Original Sheik' match or can ever recall him as a manager - well before my time). Again - I want to reiterate 'threat' for my own personal tastes - don't care how much the bookers may have screwed up storylines. 1. Kamala 2. Nikita Koloff 3. Iron Sheik 4. Sgt. Slaughter 5. Great Khali Go! 5.

Being you mentioned the sheik I'd have to go with the original sheik along with Abdullah the butcher. Also I like Kabuki, and Kendo Nagasaki, Ivan Koloff and I'll probably think of more after I close out this thread.

I never mentioned Great Muta who should have been mentioned. I watch him and think of Kabuki at times Abdullah - terrific - what area was he hailed from anyway? Parts Unknown? I was going to go 'Ivan' - but chose Nikita because I just found him that much more intimidating. really think a hogan vs. nikita war could have drawn big....

Abdulla was the madman from Sudan. He couldn't go too long in the ring but man people believed in him. That was some wild matches. The Great Muta I forgot about. He was really something. He came in to Florida I remember at the time and he was doing stuff nobody had seen before. Nikita was an awesome presence. Didn't have the talent of Ivan, but he was physically awesome and drew money.

Abdullah is worse of the worse garbage wrestlers. All he did was mutilate people in the ring and gave him his diseases. Guys go to move was a damn fork...embarrassing.

You don't have to like that style of wrestling, but it's far from "embarrassing". I don't think he's all that "embarrassed" about the money he drew for several decades.

Joe Schmoe.

That's true. I like a mix of a lot of different styles. That's what wrestling should be about. You had the big fat guy that bled and stabbed people, you had your big brawlers, and you had guys that can wrestle. Everybody had their place on the card. Rather than now where too many of the guys are similar and have similar matches that are paced the same way. I remember the angle where he comes out of the box. I think that surprised me because I didn't know that one was coming. That was pretty cool.

I think that surprised me because I didn't know that one was coming. That was pretty cool. Bingo. Everybody had their place on the card as you put it. And this can be debated at nausea. It's why I found Nitro to be terrific and why Nitro beat RAW in the rating for over a year. They had everything. Those cruiserweights and 'vanilla midgets' everybody clamored for? One can make the argument when they eventually did get their 'push' - that's when the business went on the downtrend. Now I know that may seem a little ignorant as there's many factors involved - i.e. WCW going out of business. But Nitro those midcarders had there place - Guerrero, Benoit, Malenko, Mysterio - and they were entertaining - I'll argue Y2J is the one 'Superstar' and 'Icon' out of them all and they may seem a little disrespectful to some. That was your midcard right there. Then you had your stars - the Hogans, Flairs, Savages, Harts, Warriors, Halls, Nashes, the list goes on and on. Now? It's 3 Hours of TJ Perkins clones. People can bash Russo all they want - he's made similar claims - he tunes in - and he just doesn't get these guys places on the card.

Yeah WCW had such a deep roster than could give you a little bit of everything. I guess that was a different generation. That was sort of like the cutoff point before guys were getting trained certain ways and programmed to be all the same and all that.

He didn't draw anything. Not even in Japan, he wasn't main eventing...he was a sideshow attraction and the foundation for Garbage wrestling. I am willing to be some of people who snapped back at me don't realize what Garbage wrestling is, its a style. It didn't draw anything in Japan, IWA, W*ING, Big Japan were not sellers.
Please provide me with some type of proof that he drew the masses to see his shows. He didn't fill up Tokyo Dome, sure didn't fill up any US arena based off his ability. Leave that to the Bruno and Grahams of the world. Butcher was what he was...a guy that was mid card or semi main event. Never won anything major in major companies. That was for a reason.
There as only one guy who has been successful in garage wrestling and by coincidence...Butcher was in a few of his matches. That would be Atsushi Onita, king of garbage wrestling.
I would like to applaud a guy who was careless in the ring and gave people hepatitis...but nahhhh, can't do it.

Garbage wrestling is a style, genius. He was a garbage wrestler, he has no shame in that.
TJ who? That's what I think about your ridiculous TJ Perkins comment. Try again.
Let me guess though...because you watched a few youtube clips of Butcher and played with him in Nintendo 64 games, that makes you believe he was great?

So you're really saying nobody paid money to see Abdullah the butcher. You're saying He didn't main event, He never drew money with the Sheik, Carlos Colon, never drew Baba a dime, etc.. C'mon. Onita started his own wrestling company and it went out of business. Look, I'm not a wrestler, I was not talking about him as a person or how he may or may not have treated people in the ring. I was talking as a fan and giving my personal list of favorites. He was what he was. A special attraction that I enjoyed seeing from time to time.

Bitching about someone editing their post. yep all 12 of my post are indeed edit? what does that have to do w your whining and weird assumption about tj Perkins? Might be time for you to log off, fragile little princess. edit: yep did it again, gonna keep crying? your last paragraph indicates that you might be a 15 year old bedwetter who can't comprehend simple things. You still don't understand what garbage wrestling is huh?

Yes Baba had him on the mid card if you checked your history and seen the cards. he want champion carnival few times and amounted to nothing. My comments regarding Abdullah are directly linked to wrestling. Nicholson incident where he gave the dude hepatitis and courts found Nicholson in favor. Abdullah was reckless in the ring and cost people careers like that. Not gonna praise him and say he is great. It's identical to new jack going reckless with intent to maim and hurt people. Sorry, I just disagree with your stance on Abdullah. his whole shtick was throwing punches and using a damn fork. dudes head looks lime hamburger meat from all the reckless blade jobs he did.

He gets very upset when you don't recognize his refuse expertise so tread lightly. Apparently he's well versed in the use of cutlery as deadly weapons.
