Here below is my own idea for a Sequel to the 1982 Movie "John Carpenter's THE THING".
"In January of 1983, an American Rescue Team of 9 People arrive at the burned remains of "OUTPOST 31" and they find the frozen dead bodies of MacReady and Childs. They want to take the 2 bodies and fly back to "McMURDO BASE" but because a Massive Storm is lying between them and "McMURDO BASE", They instead decide to fly to another nearby American Base called "OUTPOST 28" which consists of 12 People and stay there for a few days while the storm passes over them. One Day after arriving there though, the 2 bodies of MacReady & Childs both transform into monsters which starts the madness all over again. Then to make matters even worse, a 10 Person Soviet Military Team arrives with the intention of capturing the monster by any means necessary and killing anyone who gets in their way." -------------------- Do you Like my Sequel Idea.....YES or NO ?

Not really. The Thing shouldn't have a sequel to begin with especially since it has one of the best endings in cinema history. Your concept doesn't offer anything new except Americans vs Soviets, which sounds like something out of 50s B sci-fi horror. Carpenter's film was about paranoia, not being able to trust your friends anymore. Bringing in another group that's hostile to begin with would only take away from that.

I absolutely agree about the whole 'paranoia part' which is why I have so many characters (3 different teams) in my idea. It would work out where during the course of the story, friends would become enemies & enemies would become friends.
