Prunes can be an essential part of a healthy diet.
How do you take your prunes?

My mother used to boil prunes in water and give us the prunes plus the flavored water and I liked it. I sometimes just eat prunes out of the box, I don't do anything with them.

Just like WKM ... straight out of the box.

I voted for yoghurt. Not only do I enjoy prune yoghurt (good for banana dipping like fig yoghurt), I also enjoy prunes straight no chaser, so bring it on.

The time I saw Burt Lancaster, all on his own, in a museum cafeteria he was looking for a table ... on his tray was a Dannon Prune Yogurt. Had I been brave enough I would have invited him to sit with me. Always regret not having made the invitation.

The first time I'd ever seen or tried yogurt was at this little grocery store in the town where I grew up. They only had one brand - Dannon - and I remember the prune yogurt was the first flavor I tried. It was delicious. I thought yogurt was some exotic new health food invention, lol. Oh, and I can pinpoint the year, too, because I remember the store speaker system was playing a popular tune of that time, "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" by the band Looking Glass... so it was 1972. In fact, any time I hear that song, it reminds me of Dannon prune yogurt.

At college in the mid 70s I would collect the Dannon tops that would fit into the waxed top and I filled a wall with them. I would even buy kinds I didn't care for to add variety.

My mother used to boil prunes in water and give us the prunes plus the flavored water and I liked it. I sometimes just eat prunes out of the box, I don't do anything with them. Same here. "Stewed prunes" I guess we called it. My dad would add a cinnamon stick or two to the dried prunes while they were simmering. He said it was to prevent "griping," whatever that is, lol.
I still occasionally stew up a batch of dried prunes. I love their flavor after they've been stewed. To me they taste much better that way than just eating them straight from the bag. In fact, I'll never eat them that way. A lot of people find prunes so comical, because of their use as a laxative. But I've come to love them for their intense flavor. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I don't know what changed with Dannon yogurt, or when, but their yogurt back in the early 70's was far better than stuff they put out later. Back then, I don't think they added anything (other than the fruit on the bottom). Later, it seemed like they used special thickening agents. Not sure, but their yogurt back when I first used to get it was heavenly.

I like prunes, but I have them rarely. I eat them plain, and I don't recall ever having had them in any of the combinations that are listed in the poll. In late summer/early fall, I can practically inhale plums, along with other "stone" fruits. Early Sunday morning is a shopping time, for me. I may buy some tomorrow. I probably won't eat any tomorrow ... they're far too healthy for Super Bowl Sunday.

Like divtal I've never seen them served with those various creams in the poll ... perhaps a UK delicacy , petrolino ? I have tried them stuffed with cream cheese and an almond ...ok ... but they were not something I would make a habit of eating. On toast only as plum (not quite prune) jam.

It probably would be considered a delicacy in the U K nowadays due to high prices and ongoing supply chain issues. Traditionally, English homemakers would bathe their wrinkled prunes in condensed milk, fully submerged, to create a prune float for the elders in the family.
Plum jam is a favourite across the country, as is damson preserve.

I like them best as plums. Don't eat prunes often, as too much sugar in dried fruits for a diabetic.
