Thor: Love and Thunder is my least favorite Marvel movie. To be fair I am only half-way through, but it is really dumb so far and not in an entertaining way either. It's down there with Iron Man 2 and Eternals for me. I haven't watched Eternals yet.

Thor: Love and Thunder - 5/10 The stuff with Gorr in the last 30 minutes made the movie a bit better, but even with that his character just isn't given much to do. Half the movie should have focused on Gorr imo. Showing him actually hunting down the Gods and killing them.

All Quiet on the Western Front - 9/10
Never seen the original, but…whew. What a movie. So great. A little slow in the middle but it’s fantastic. Visuals, music, performances - all of it is top-notch. Really impressed with this one; one of the best war movies I’ve seen.
On a side note, I’m currently out on my porch with a cigar and drink listening to the soundtrack while it pours rain in the background. One of those existential crisis-type of experiences.

Glad you like it so much. Watched it and - no shock - you seem to have loved it as well. Your taste is right in line with mine. Cheers. My expectations were so low for this remake. Yet I’d be shocked if there was a more effective movie the rest of the year. |
