Click on the name, click on the setting icon and choose block. In your privacy setting you can set how much you want to block. Anyway, I think this board could use some moderation, if only to clean up after trolls when the admin is not here. Can you please tell me exactly what or who a 'troll' is, and could you show me an example here on this board? Thank you. Im not going to link all the post(I blocked the user), but there are about 52 post made by one poster all containing the same picture of someones asshole. I think that could be considered trolling, don't you think?

Thank you for the reply.

Some rules are necessary. No personal attacks, discussions only. No spamming. Your standard boards guidelines. Something that was never enforced on the previous boards.

that's the thing that J2 is missing. You can't have it both ways. If you want the board to relatively spam free, bashing free, and cleaning up after trolls, you have to have at least SOME human moderation.

I speak about 'moderators' (false 'moderation'), not against forum maintenance, which is really good to have.

Freedom of speech or giving an opinion versus spammers, trolls, bullies etc is a big difference. Rules are made to make sure we all can enjoy a place like this without the spam, trolls or bullies and this is the only reason it would need to be moderated or maintained. It doesn't matter how you call it, what matters is how you deal with it. Looking at the intention of the creator, the only thing that matters is that we all can speak our minds and have discussions about media content as normal human beings and well, the internet is full of those that are only on the internet to make another feel miserable, these people need to be moderated to be able to maintain a site or forum like this. This right here is 'political "correctness"' if I ever saw it, the disgusting thing. Precisely how it starts to creep in if it's left to itself. So-called social conduct rules are very good when everyone is on a same 'playing field' and honesty exists; hardly the case with things now. Otherwise such rules are useless for the truly considerate, and quite useful for those snakes who would cunningly abuse them against true sincerity. A lot of things have gone to hell with good intentions, so good intentions are not enough. re: "as normal human beings", so who or what says what is normal and what is not? Policy of course, "rules". Who makes those rules and based on which criteria? Someone does it, or a 'vote' is held for the sake of 'democracy'. Once those "rules" are set in place, then people had better follow policy to the point of hypocrisy itself, or else they get "moderated" one way or the next by the mighty "moderator" ("moderated" to quite partial degrees, depending on how much this "moderator" is your pal). If they fail to act "normal"/"civil"/"tolerant" according to those rules and to the whim of anyone who may feel 'offended'/'insulted'/'miserable' by a particular interaction, then they are up for "moderation". However, as long as they act according to the "rules" there should be no problem, but you'd better be just a lit-tle extra nice to the "moderator" just in case. That's the first act of psychological bullying against everyone on the board, right there. Violence disguised as "rules for order". Bunch of bullshit if you ask me. So then if they don't fall in line and instead fail to turn into a bunch of hypocrites who fear to speak their minds because of "the rules", they get effectively bullied directly (often verbally) by the "moderators" themselves, the gang, and then eventually they are kicked out because they weren't "nice" or wouldn't play along. Better bend to the boss. Just the kind of environment fit for a snake if you ask me. Okay. You have thoroughly explained yourself and your position. We've got it. Seems like some, specially myself, dis-agree with your position and your request. I know I won't change your mind, nor will you change mine. I hope we can agree to disagree, see what happens and take it from there.

Seems like some, specially myself, dis-agree with your position and your request. I know I won't change your mind, nor will you change mine. I hope we can agree to disagree, see what happens and take it from there. I just made a post and said what I think. When I wrote it I was very angry over imdb's garbage moves, hence probably the tone and the language; but what I said holds true. No one is forced to agree with it, of course, but the truth of things stands on its own; and part of that truth is that I'm not making rules here or deciding for anyone on the board; and I don't try to. I think there are posts with "rule suggestions" around here somewhere, and I think I haven't said a word in those. Actually I'm keeping this thread around (and I say this as if I could delete it, that is -- not sure if I can), just for the sake of conversation. If you feel differently about this matter you may want to go ahead and play a little politics with the higher ups, then maybe through a bit of lobbying your views can become laws here, or in other words, "rules and guidelines". (and by the way, this was not a request, just a 'contribution')

If people don't behave like morons than you won't need much moderation.

The admin is just a human like you and I, and he can't be here 24/7 to clean up the boards when trolls come in to post pornographic content. Apparently it's already happened a couple of times. Most people can handle it and know how to ignore it/use the block feature, but to maintain the integrity of the boards, someone has to be able to quickly address those issues.
I personally think as long as the discussion is relevant to the thread and the intent of the post is to contribute discussion, then people should be able to say whatever they feel like. If a person feels the discussion has become too heated, they can simply leave that thread.

Hey i want to be a moderator. You're already president. What more do you want? I just sent admin the application PM. I'll just do low tier work like banning spammers (if they post like 50 posts quickly), porn posters, doxxers, parody accounts, etc. Like you need someone around. I won't indulge in other stuff unless told.
