considered the best of the Nightmare sequels. Haven't seen them all but I thought this was a lot of fun and liked it more than the original. Nice to see Nancy again and Langenkamp is better here than the first. Freddy also has a bigger presence and is more wise cracking but not to the point where he is a farce. An early role for Patricia Arquette who plays the main lead besides Langenkamp and also Laurence Fishburne randomly shows up as an orderly despite already have appeared in several Francis Ford Coppola films. Guess he was friends with the producers? Also, Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) co wrote the script with Chuck Russell who directed. Both would also collaborate on the excellent Blob remake the following year. Craven also had input so you had a real group of talent here.

One of the best horror sequels ever. Evil Dead II was released the same month. It was great to be a horror fan during that time.

Crazy to think it's made by the same guy that made "The Mask"
