Women's semifinals today. First up, top remaining seed (#3) Ons Jabeur from Tunisia against unseeded Tatjana Maria from Germany. Then it will be Borat's countrywoman Rybakina against Simona Halep from Romania, who is looking to add to her tally of two major titles (one Roland Garros and one Wimbledon).

Meh, I think sports are more interesting when there's an established pecking order. I'd rather watch the same group of elite players battle it out than a bunch of nobodies gunning for flavor of the month. Particularly if you're paying for tickets, wouldn't you rather watch greatness than mediocrity?

Particularly if you're paying for tickets, wouldn't you rather watch greatness than mediocrity? I tend to agree. While it is nice to see new legitimate contenders coming up, too much inconsistency as we are seeing in women's tennis is not very good either. I mean, how did Ons Jabeur get to be the number 3 seed at Wimbledon?

Nadal withdraws from Wmbldn. Real shame, but he’s nowhere near fit enough.
Kyrgios gets bye into final.
Latest in the tournament a player of either sex has withdrawn in any slam (in the Open era.)

That's too bad. I wonder if he will recover in time to play here in Montreal next month. I was thinking of catching a game or two, if it isn't all sold out already.

First Fed now Rafa
When did our legends and icons turn into big fat quitters? ![](https://s26.postimg.cc/gf93ycxax/giveup.gif)
I'd not only like to give the fans their money's worth - but give 110% until my limb falls off and I'm lying in a hospital bed - just the type of character one should have
But that's just this guy
This guy too -

Rafa finished his previous match while injured. A quitter would've just given up on the spot. A quitter doesn't have 22 major championships. How many do you have?

Just 1 more win was all it took
Oh so close
But he couldn't even go out there and give a shot....
Just try....give an honest ounce of effort to see what may have happened....
Literally just show up and try - that's the hardest part in life to some - Just showing up to the dance......

Two more. He retired before the semis. You think you're disappointed, imagine how he feels.

Many athletes play (or at least attempt and try) through Sports Hernias (abdominal tears)
You can have surgery when the season is over
Rafa said he we heal in 3-4 weeks
I mean this is Wimbledon - the biggest stage on the planet
Just my 2 cents - why not at least get on the court and give a go?
A quick google search on Abdominal Tears (Sports Hernias) -
'A reducible inguinal hernia is one that will appear when standing or during activities but will fall back into the abdominal cavity with gentile pressure. You are essentially able to push, or “reduce”, the hernia back into the abdomen. If this hernia is small enough, then it is likely ok to continue playing football.'
Maybe have surgery when the Tourney is over or rest up for the U.S. Open
I just don't get the not even trying to play through it part
But that's just me

T'was age that killed the beast.
Nadal is the tennis goat, he should think about walking away soon. Maybe after US Open. The sport is such a physically violent toll on the body, & well, it's the miles too.
