True crime mini-series have really blown up but most I don't finish, too much padding. 20-30 minutes is enough for most crimes unless it's a serial offender.
The limited series from two years ago about the Preppie Murder, it brought the character assassination of victim Jennifer Levin versus the general media treatment of her murderer into a different perspective. There's the decision of one judge, which turned what should have been an open/shut case into a trial with a hung jury, and the eventual guilty plea of manslaughter. And the unfortunate connection of the lead prosecutor and lead to another well known NYC criminal case- the Central Park Five.
You say it, you even think it, you can have it. Are we beginning to see the possibilities here?
