593.000 dollars worldwide today. It will not reach the 1 billion mark, let alone surpass it.
It's over.
Too bad, I was hoping for a great result.

Sounds like an exaggeration.

I think there will be much anticipation for the sequel. It had a great style, only the plot was a little weak at times. Plus it was three hours long. But the audiences will enjoy it on home media and will turn out for the next instalment, especially if they add another big name which will seal the deal.
Look at Mad Max: Fury Road. It didn’t succeed financially but it’s getting a sequel.

It's made $600m worldwide despite being a thematically dark three-hour-long, might-as-well-be-R-rated movie that at times resembles a slasher flick more than an actioner, and it comes out at a time when the market is saturated with Batmen. Not to mention the pandemic is still on. I think it did just fine.

It’s a success. Not sure why anyone thought it was going to clear a billion anyway.

It’s a success. Not sure why anyone thought it was going to clear a billion anyway. Probably because of Joker.

Probably because of Joker.Which came out in completely different circumstances. Your time machine needs some work. NWH took over a billion want to guess why and once you do you'll understand why some thought this Batman film would've done the same too.

The third film in a trilogy that brought back the previous, successful leads of the franchise? Yeah, that’s pretty different from this.

Yep NWH was better than The Batman in terms of entertainment value you'll get no argument from me.

It still hasn’t released in China right? It could get a decent haul over there.
It did about as I expected - not absolutely bonkers, but a Batman movie will bring in solid bucks.
Its length and dark themes were always going to make it less profitable than the top MCU movies. The real test, to me, will be the performance of the sequel.
I assume it’ll be shorter and the arc for Bruce and the city of Gotham in this one hints at a slightly lighter tone. I think the $1 billion mark is my expectation for the second at this point. It should outperform this one.

With Batfleck, Keaton returning for Flashpoint, the kid in the Gotham show, the old Game of Thrones actor as Batman in the Titans series, it can be tough to keep up for casual fans. And even if everyone can differentiate all of those characters, it’s hard to explain that it’s not even connected to Joker just a few years ago. I’ve enjoyed the DC output more than most, but I’ll admit it’s sloppy in regard to continuity.

Well, one of the people I was talking about was a friend who didn’t watch the DCEU and just assumed this was part of it. He ended up seeing it though and loved it. Had to explain to him that Morbius is not an MCU movie too.
