Many critics/moviegoers consider it one of the best musicals in movie history. Of course a lot of you probably just remember the song from "A Clockwork Orange". The 4K version of this film comes out April 26th. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Singin' in the Rain (1952) - 4 out of 4 stars"Perhaps the greatest movie musical of all time, fashioned by Betty Comden and Adolph Green from a catalogue of Arthur Freed-Nacio Herb Brown songs. The setting is Hollywood during the transition to talkies, with Hagen giving the performance of a lifetime as Kelly's silent screen costar, whose voice could shatter glass. Kelly's title number, O'Connor's "Make 'Em Laugh," are just two highlights in a film packed with gems. Later a Broadway musical." ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5d/Singin%27_in_the_Rain_%281952_poster%29.jpg) ![](https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/f790623d-f487-4a7a-ba50-1f381e9ca980.377cd6ce98f6ba76a60095e077277b45.jpeg?odnHeight=612&odnWidth=612&odnBg=FFFFFF) ![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZB4UmWXn4f0/maxresdefault.jpg)

Not being a expert of Broadway history, I am nevertheless surprised that musicals based on Hollywood movies aren't just a thing from the 90's onward.

Such a great movie. I think even people who don't care for musicals tend to like it.

I’ve seen it once…thought it was ok. It didn’t blow me away but I can understand it being one of those films everyone should see at least once.
