Rate this film. I haven't seen it, but I feel a thread for this film could be fun....

4/10 I have heard the 3D is actually pretty good but I've only seen the regular version. No interesting characters. No suspense. No good.

5/10
The Jaws movies are probably the best example in history of "sequel decay". From the first movie, which is an absolute classic of cinema, hugely successful and influential as hell... to the second, which is a serviceable film, not a classic but a decent watch... to the third, which is not a good movie at all... to the fourth, which is a notoriously terrible movie. So I'd rate them 10... 8... 5... 2.
For Jaws 3D... the effects aren't great. It's from that era of 3D movies where directors thought that they must make the most of the 3D by constantly throwing things out of the screen at you. The characters aren't all that interesting either. though I did think it was nice to see Brody's kids grown up and still feeling the effects of what happened to them in the previous movies. The whole "underwater amusement park" thing is kind of silly, but it's a sensible enough setting I guess.
But on the whole the film just isn't very good. The acting, the story, the dialogue... it's all about the level of any old direct-to-VHS movie of the day, and would have been just that except that the Jaws name brought it more attention than most such movies.

All of this. I gave it a 5/10 as well.

You can see the budget running out as the movie progresses. Shooting began before the correct 3D cameras were ready so much of the footage had to be reshot. Then it was decided to composite all the optical fx on video to make them look like crap. No wonder movies cost so much. The pity of it is that the story isn't bad and the cast are OK but it all just looks cheap and nasty.

Indeed. Also many of the underwater scenes were supposedly shot "dry". It was a missed opportunity because some of the 3D set-pieces work quite well, e.g. the waterskiing display. Incredibly, it's not the worst 80s 3D outing: that dubious honour is reserved for "Metalstorm: the Destruction of Jared-Syn".

6/10 I enjoyed it for the so-bad-its-hilarious kind of film it is, and also for including the lovely Bess Armstrong and Lea Thompson. That end scene, is just really beautiful, with the dolphins pefectly comes in an closes off one of the cheesiest 80s sequels, all in perfect harmony.

3/10. Only avoids being the worst in the series because of the next film.

SF Debris summed up the series best "First movie: timeless classic. Second film: inoffensive but clearly inferior. Third film: stupid. Fourth film: lobotomy stupid."

C 5.5 I gave it a 6.
It's not good, yet not officially bad either. Lea Thompson is having fun (as she lied about her resume to be in it), so too is Bess Armstrong. SeaWorld is a fun place-as-character thing. Oddly, I got some Jurassic Park vibes - with the control centre ppl trying to control all wildlife goings on outside. The shark looks unimpressive the more we see of it, & the fear factor is zero.

3/10
The video quality is atrocious, like a 3rd generation vhs copy which I think had to do with the 3D gimmick and the story was very meh. I think it might have been more gory than even the first movie. They tried to repeat the Ben Gardner spot, but they did it comically and the movie just comes off like a 80's slasher toned down sometimes.
As kids this one got the least amount of watch time. It would be a few years before I realized how crap the 4th movie really was with the plot holes and then seeing the asinine altered ending was so laughably bad.
