Clint Eastwood really appreciated his talent.
“I was very saddened by the news of Geoffrey’s passing. I worked with him on many films and thought he was a wonderful actor and terrific performer. He had the most expressive face — which made working with him so fun.”

'Was Geoffrey Lewis good friends with Clint Eastwood? Their brotherly rapport is perhaps best exemplified by the pair of bare-knuckle brawler movies they made — Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can — in which the two men played best friends battling bikers, cops, and mobsters.'

It seems he always went the extra mile, though didn't always approve. Seeing Juliette Lewis with bad boy Billie Joe Armstrong would obviously have been a challenge. He got that, I believe.

As prairie bushwhacker Hobbs in Bad Company (1972) he was very entertaining. In one memorable and chuckle-worthy scene he is being pursued by gunfire through a forest. He's running with his gun, firing back behind him at his pursuers, all the while crying "Don't shoot! Don't shoot!" as he himself is firing at them. Geoffrey Lewis as Hobbs in Bad Company.

I always enjoyed his presence everytime he was on screen. And he was a very busy character actor; movies, TV, he's done it all. Tons of acting credits.
In particular, I thought he was great as the slimy lawyer in Ten To Midnight ("No, Warren, I'm saying you'll walk out of a crazy house alive; they'll carry you out of a gas chamber dead!").

Wonderful actor who held his own with the best of the best. I especially loved him in his starring role in an early HBO series, Maximum Security (1984). He was brilliant in that. He did so much work through the years, and I loved him in everything.

Geoffrey Lewis was in one of my top 10 horror tv movies (or mini-series) of all time, Tobe Hooper's 'Salem's Lot' (1979), based on Stephen King's novel, extended edition with maximum runtime.
