His ability to easily switch between French, German, English, and even Italian is impressive. Both memorable performances but I think I actually lean towards his performance in Django. His terrific enunciation also really sells Tarantino's dialogue. The opening to Inglourious Basterds is still impressive as hell.

Basterds. The opening sequence at the French farmhouse and then the look on Brad Pitt and others’ faces when he breaks into completely fluent Italian is just extremely well done.
