I find it a bit boring to look at. Sorry about that. Here are some shots of the bizarre and (to me) dazzling lifeforms present in Socotra, an Indian Ocean island owned by Yemen.

They have an interesting pixel look, a mix of the modern and the ancient which I wouldn’t object to seeing in London.

I like the different angles in close quarters within these steep, urban landscapes. Creates a kind of crazy paving vibe.

I find it interesting to look at, but I wouldn't want to live in any of those buildings--too cramped- and crowded-looking.

Uninspiring, but they blend in with the surroundings so I guess it's got the camo thing going.

I think that the first photos are most intriguing. And, they made the most of the terrain that they had to work with ... rocky hills. I don't know if that is in the area of Aden, San'a, or another part of the country. It certainly isn't desert.
If the last picture is, indeed, built in the desert, earlier architecture must have had a strong influence.
I find it attractive. But, the overall look is almost familiar to me. I live in San Francisco, which is fairly small for a major city. We're at the tip of a peninsula, obviously with water on 3 sides, and another county to the south. We're hilly, and UP is pretty much our only option for expansion. I live on flat land, near the ocean. But, I'm used to seeing hilly vistas with many living quarters - homes, and/or apartments - "at a glance."
