15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked

He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.
He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: I know your deeds.
The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: I know your deeds
The beginning of the creation of God is an interesting phrase.

Listen to this, you fat cows of Bashan who are on the mountain of Samaria. You make it hard for the poor. You crush those in need. You say to your husbands, “Bring us something to drink!” As the Lord God is holy, He has promised, “The days are coming when they will take you away with meat hooks. And the last of you will be taken with fish hooks. You will go out through breaks in the walls. Each of you will go straight out. And you will be sent to Harmon,” says the Lord.
(The meaning of the word translated as "Harmon" is unclear. It must be some kind of undesirable place, but what exactly?

Having been raised on the King James version of the Bible, I always find it difficult to relate to newer translations. But I recognize the 'neither hot nor cold, and will spew you out of my mouth' angle.
Nothing like a bit of intimidation...
But he LOVES you!

Next time my wife asks me to refill her wine glass I'm going to quote this verse. Get thee to Harmon woman! Bad idea! It would be at my house, anyway. So I actually did it and she says, "That's in Kentucky right?" The wine was doing it's job.
