After being a member here for more than five years, Avast! is suddenly flagging this site as dangerous.
I'm able to post this because I added imdb2.freeforums.net as an exception in Avast!, and I haven't noticed any problems. But before I did that, Avast! simply refused to let this site load.
Avast is also saying:
I don't know if these are false positives, or there are truly threats here, but I thought I should report this.

Thanks for the info! I clicked on the thread link you provided, and Avast! is blocking support.proboards.com too. I'll try the link again after they have had a chance to correct the issue. Avast! beeps at me every time create a post, but at least I do what I have to on this board. Thanks again.

Thanks Admin . I ran a complete virus scan of my system overnight and it found nothing. I discovered that support.proboards.com now loads, albeit with beeping and Avast! telling me it blocked threats. I tried removing the exception from Avast! for imdb2.freeforums.net, but it's still necessary for me to post here. I reproduced the notifications exactly from Avast!'s Alert History, so that should be as good as a screenshot for Proboards Support. As always, thanks for all your help.

alpha128Have you reported the Problem to Avast!? Sometimes it's not the website that is a problem, but the Antivirus definitions that are... They may have added the website to their 'No No' list and it is just blindly tagging it, even though there is no problem. I use Norton, and I've been using Proboards and visited many different forums since the early 2010s, before this forum existed, and never had a problem... So...

I have not reported it to Avast! because I'm not certain it's a false positive. There have been instances in the past where Avast! flagged ads.proboards.com because there really was a bad ad in circulation and the problem went away when the ad was pulled. I want to see what Proboards says before I report a false positive to Avast!.

Added to the support thread. Thanks, alpha. I read through that thread and noticed this post: "I'm having the same problem on the MURPG and Official FAN forums. And I'm posting from my Vitw and not my laptop so I can't provide a screenshot. (The problem is only ob my Laptop.)" As far as I can tell, the problem seems to be confined to ProBoards forums, as I've had no trouble with non-ProBoards forums. And I don't know if this is relevant, but I also use a laptop.

There's like 10 threads there about this, all from different PB forums. And in those threads are some who just added theirs, like the one you just mentioned did in mine. In the pinned thread about it, one of the PB admins said he believes it's most likely a false positive. I'm sure they'll know more 'during regular business hours.'

Fingers crossed they can get all of this sorted with a minimum of fuss. They usually do. As of now, Avast! is no longer beeping and telling me it's blocked threats from this site, or from proboards.com. I've removed IMDB2.freeforums.net as an exception.

Avast did that to me as well, for this board and a couple other Proboards I frequent as well, and for most of the tabs on the Proboards page itself too. I had to log on using my phone, which had no issues.
Seems to be fixed now.
