What is an Ookla? The orangutan at Cardiff zoo? Are you deliberately forgetting that I live here and that I work with people from other countries who know how slow our speeds are compared to theirs. Cardiff has no zoo, Ade. Ookla is a major internet testing service. And New Zealand isn't as primitive as you would lead us to believe. Cardiff must be pretty primitive if it hasn't got a zoo! I never said New Zealand is primitive, I said it's expensive and the internet is slow. Ypur lies notwithstanding, it is slow.

All of a sudden it's everywhere snd the only way to get rid is to pay. Quel surprise The advertising has slowed down posting and made it impossible in some cases. Predictable but very sad. I have an ad-blocker, so I don't see it, however ... as of today I started seeing this message at the top of every page: Please consider supporting this website by disabling your ad-blocker. This website does not use audio ads, popups, or other annoyances. Thank you! That certainly didn't take long. How much longer will it be till they decide a polite request isn't enough, and just outright prevent you from using the site until you disable the ad-blocker? I still get some ads, but mine blocks the ones that are too distracting or so big they interfere with using the site. I see no ads here, which probably means there's something to the idea they make posting slow at best and impossible at worst.

Internet speeds in New Zealand are very slow compared to the rest of the world. Data costs are very high. It all adds up to a big problem. And the country with the fastest mobile broadband is.... New Zealand. If NZ is anything like Australia, internet speeds are great for those that live in a big city, especially if those that pay more for a business connection rather than a home connection...but if you live in a regional or rural place, sometimes dial up is the only option. I live in a city and there are some parts of it that can only access dial up.

It's only a 'big problem' for poor people addicted to online message boards. Let's face it, online message boards have done you no favors. Your opinion. Another Randbot? "Poor" is not a moral failing except for you/them...

No, they don't believe in locking up animals in captivity. Just children. Did I lie? I was making clear the false impression you were giving of the nation you soil with your presence.

Here, business connections are reasonable, domestic are rubbish, especially mobile - making Prog's assertion particularly stupid!

And Althea happens to be correct. There are parts of Australia much worse off than your pitiful insignificant tax haven for invading disillusioned Yanks. 😝 Phfffft! But that doesn't make YOU correct. While New Zealand ranks below more classy nations for internet speed, it was, as of 2014, number 1 for mobile broadband thing speed.

As far as I can tell, it's only one banner at the top and one at the bottom. I don't know why they didn't appear until recently. I expected them on the first day. Did IMDb not have ads? I've dialed the posts per page back down to 15 to lesson page loads a little bit. Maybe that will help some.

Doesn't overall load speed increase if people are constantly flipping through pages. Imdb had plenty of ads and at times they were annoying. But what wasn't annoying is I paid absolutely nothing for being on the boards. If they really have an issue with ads, I have no idea why since no one get more than a block without seeing them and they are plastered all over the TV, they use ad blockers.

Please don't do that for one poster. I didn't. Good. My preference is more posts per page, but if that messes things up or causes slowdowns for most people, it's not something worth crying over.

Websites cost money to run, it was gonna have to either have advertising or a subscription fee. I don't really notice the ads myself.

Wik is often unfairly maligned but often those who claim they've got something wrong are dishonest people with personal agendas who have trouble with reality.

I actually read it on wikipedia. Make up your mind about your source. Wikipedia is completely unreliable.

I don't think it was - but you seem to think that she was claiming that NZ has top speeds. It doesn't, whatever source you use. Why are you being so ridiculously stubborn about it? You must be still drinking as much as ever. ![](http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e41/imdbv2/imdbsmileys/sad.gif)

Your own source doesn't say what you think it does! Wtf are you being so stupid and stubborn about it? When my Australian boss came here to work in NZ for a week she was weeping with frustration at the slow speed she was having to deal with. You are a drunken violent stupid lapdog for the bigger more powerful boys but they should not let you post on your own without support and guidance.
