Like the late Fred Ward who died earlier this month, Ray Liotta frequently worked with directors I like. I believe Liotta's work with old friends Jonathan Demme and Jonathan Kaplan on 'Something Wild' (1986) and 'Unlawful Entry' (1992) respectively - both of whom had worked with Roger Corman - helped propel him on his rapid ascent to becoming an icon of American crime cinema. Few could match him for sheer intensity, and in between working with Demme and Kaplan, he made Martin Scorsese's seminal gangster film 'Goodfellas' (1990).
There was a lot of great work to follow ...
Thanks for the movies, Mr. Liotta ... you'll be missed ...
Ray Liotta & James Mangold
Ray Liotta & Sylvester Stallone
Joe Carnahan, John Ortiz, Ray Liotta & Jason Patric
