Upcoming horror movie starring Nathalie Emmanuel. She plays a girl who takes a DNA test, find out she's related to some rich Brits, and goes to their country house for a wedding. It's pretty Get Out (complete with a friend giving her comical warnings over the phone, like "don't trust guys with goatees") meets the Conjuring style jump scare horror.
Swim saw it and honestly thought it was a piece of shit at first, but then there's a twist that boosts the movie WAY up. If you ever end up seeing it, go in blind.

Is it renamed The Invitation? If so then there's an R rated cut on the way.

Can't imagine it's as good as The Invitation from 2015.

Can't imagine it's as good as The Invitation from 2015. It isn't. And the cut I saw was definitely R rated, considering it opened with a gruesome suicide via decapitation. Though they did shy away from nudity in a rather gratuitous skinny dipping scene, which I figured was because of a female director. In any case, I didn't really see different cuts come up in that article, though what DID come up is essentially 1/2 the movie's big twist. I knew it'd be hard to keep it a secret, but there isn't even a trailer out yet and she's just candidly talking about there being vampires. The movie plays in such a way that you think it's a generic haunted house movie with ghosts. I personally had no idea they were vampires until an hour in when the fangs came out, unless I'm just stupid. But once you know that, it's not hard to guess the other half of the twist, which she didn't mention and is probably still meant to be a secret.

I'm not gonna read your spoiler section or the article because I may still see this, but if this is indeed the same movie then there have been a lot of TV spots even if no full length trailer. It's been on TV quite a bit. Lame that they'd give away the big twist in the article, but I'd say the commercials didn't give away too much.

In fact, not only is it being marketed already, the movie itself comes out in 3 days. Lol. The version Swim saw in June was very unfinished so I thought it'd take longer. I don't know about the TV spots you saw, but the footage I'm seeing is pretty revealing. The worst part is in the full length trailer, which name-drops something that's a dead giveaway if you know the reference.

Well I'll steer clear of that trailer if I can then, but the TV spots basically just show a fancy dinner at a fancy mansion and the main girl horrified when a guy cuts another 'guest's throat over a bowl on the table. Obviously on TV there's no graphic violence or blood shown, but you can tell whats going on. So I might have an idea what the inference is.

Hopefully you enjoy the twist enough that it makes the first hour worth it. Heh. Speaking of throat slitting, it's officially rated PG-13 so they definitely cut down the violence from the version I saw.

So the way the TV spot is edited is likely the way it's edited in the completed movie then.
