.......instead of the 1990's, how many titles would they have won ?? So, say the exact same Chicago Bulls teams that had won 6 NBA championships in the 1990's, had instead hit their peak at the beginning of the 1980's, in the midst of the heated Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics rivalry during that decade (Lakers ended up winning five 1980's championships, and the Celtics won three), how many titles would the Bulls have won if they had to go up against those two teams in their 1980's primes ?? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_championsSAVE FERRIS

Too many variables. These teams made specific roster moves in reaction to their own perceived weaknesses, it's hard to project what their rosters would've looked like if they all existed at the same time, if their injury concerns would've been identical, etc.
For example the Celtics traded for Walton specifically to combat the Lakers superior size and ability in the post. The 1986 Celtics ate the league alive, and would've destroyed the Lakers in the finals if only the Lakers hadn't choked against the Rockets. But the Celtics were never healthy again after that year. McHale, Walton, Bird had significant health issues that kept them from ever reaching their maximum potential as players again. Anyway, do the Celtics make the Walton move if they lose to the Bulls in the ECF, or do they go out and get a wing that can slow down Jordan? And again, we don't know if the injuries happen the same way and how they affect subsequent roster moves. The second threepeat Bulls knew they needed muscle down low to deal with Shaq (and Horace Grant), and Ewing and the bruising NY Knicks (heirs apparent to bully ball in the eastern conference after the fall of Detroit), hence the move to get Rodman. Do the Bad Boy Pistons (the team that drafted Rodman) deal him to the Bulls, I doubt it. If the Bulls are at their peak do they keep winning titles? If the first threepeat doesn't happen, does MJ retire the first time?
Ultimately my guess is that all three dynasties (Lakers, Celtics, Bulls) would've cannibalized each other with each of them winning titles but none of them becoming the dominant force of their era. Those are three of the greatest teams of all time.
