That’s what I keep hearing is that the movie is just ok. Pixar has been really dropping the ball lately. I really liked Soul and Luca. Souls was Great. Compared to this is as if Soul was written and creared by humans and this by robots who are near human but Not Quite. Some key ingredient is missing. With Soul I cried I laughed I was thrilled and entetained, I kept my eyes ok the screen. this: zero laugh out louds or tears and many moments when i was checking how much time is left

I am likely gonna see this next weekend and share my thoughts after I finish.

I know I am. From the previews it looks like it is not something that only children would enjoy.
i was, but its not great is “ok” at best. lacks something. humor/soul/more likeable characters maybe. too bad. 5/10 sounds about right. That’s harsh! I really liked it. It worked for me as a science fiction adventure with humor. The only thing I would have changed is that instead of a text right at the beginning stating that this was Andy’s favourite movie, at the end I would have cut to a scene where young Andy is in a movie theatre with his parents, they just finished watching it, and he is wide-eyed and says “That was awesome! Mom. Can we watch it again, pleeeeeease?” Show, don’t tell!

Less interesting. Less interesting than any other Pixar lead I recall. Less human perhaps? I think its becausw the stuido relied on people already loving Buzz from Other movies they forgot to focus on making him interesting enough in this movie, on his own.

#2 at the box office, $50 mil against expected $70 mil. Hopefully it's not ppl waiting for their Disney+ streaming, that'd not bode well for the industry.
I still wanna see it, maybe next week.

Yeah they didn't do enough to develop his relationship with any other character. It was just Buzz obsessed with the mission.

I just came back from it. Not the best movie I could've gone back to the theatres for since 2020 but it was still pretty enjoyable. Evans doesn't do a bad job as the substitute and it has many fun sequences and supporting characters. May be a little generic and the movie felt like it could have been just a D+ exclusive but its heart is in the right place and I wouldn't mind seeing it again if in the mood. Think it's about on par with Toy Story 4 if I had to include it in my ranking of the whole franchise.
7/10

... We own them! My son has seen them several times, I never bothered to sit down and watch them though. I'll get around to it someday. WHEN you watch them ... watch them in sequence for best effect.
