Post Red Wedding really saw an increase in his scenes. Kit Harrington talked about how daunting it was as he was originally signed on for an "ensemble show." Then he found himself the lead and the show focusing more and more on him. He said the pressure/stress was overwhelming if he stopped to think about it. He wasn't ready for it. He must be in a better place now to be in talks for another GOT show... I don't think it's HBO trying to milk the show. The Walking Dead comparison is a bit unfair as that show was the same story arch every season with a few different side characters names thrown in the mix. One cannot argue that GOT was the same thing every season - in fact, the last season being so different was a lot of fans' issues with it (particularly the rushed ending). I see HBO understanding the dissatisfaction with the final season of Thrones, and this is them maybe trying to course correct the previous ending a bit (kind of like what Showtime attempted with Dexter). I could be wrong, though. We'll have to wait and see what the story is.

Uh oh. They know the new series sucks and they're going back to the well. This is a smart move.

To quote Jon Snow:
"I don't want it!"

Uh oh. They know the new series sucks and they're going back to the well. This is a smart move. What new series? The Targaryen prequel is targetted at the Daenerys fanscum and will do something there, no matter how good it is. Jon Snow was the next favourite so it is only logical they would try to milk that too. If that flies, they'll have a Small Council sitcom with Tyrion telling dick jokes.

Thank god it's a sequel and not a prequel.
I liked Jon Snow, he was an interesting character, great at motivating people and getting them moving but a terrible leader after that.

Absolutely pointless without remaking the last 2 seasons first, and then making 9 and 10. No thanks.

The way his story ended looked like it was left open for a sequel and I can’t say I’d not watch it.

I can’t say I find the idea particularly appealing - didn’t he “retire” north of the wall at the end of Game of Thrones? So what would this new series be about, Jon Snow’s adventures among the wildlings? What I enjoyed most about that fictional world was the “politics” of the different houses vying for power. North of the wall just doesn’t seem very interesting.
Mind you, I will still watch it!

I'll watch it, one day. Alas, if the GoT taught me one thing, is that no matter what wins or losses, history will repeat itself, heal itself, etc. I just hope we're not down some rabbit hole of familiar themes & tropes, only for another soft landing such the one we got from GoT proper. Otherwise, wtf is the point.

why? was he a popular character ? sounds like HBO is being like AMC milking the TWDMilking is the most popular trend in TV and movies these days. It's like they have just given up trying to think of something new, and are forever looking wistfully to past popular franchises.
