It didn't have Tim Allen, that was already a huge red flag

Maybe audiences just weren't interested or thought it was too soon for another film that's part of the "Toy Story" franchise.

I’m kinda surprised to see it underperform. Toy Story has consistently been a popular franchise. I thought for sure a Buzz Lightyear spinoff would be a hit.
I think I as well as Disney over estimated how much interest people have in the franchise. I think a 5th TS movie could still probably do well but spinoff films seem off the table.

If it’s any indication Jurassic World was sold out at our nearby theater again and the particular screening I saw there were quite a few kids so maybe it’s getting lost in the Jurassic World blow out.

My eye for predicting box office success is apparently terrible.
I figured Top Gun 2 would flop and this would come very close to $1 billion.

I went to see Jurassic World today and every single fucking seat was filled, so you're probably right.

Its not Tim Allen or people tired of the franchise- tons of franchise movies are soaring. It that the movie shoves a hard woke agenda all the way through it and people are getting tired of being "programmed". Why everyone here is dancing around this issue, I don't know.

Well I mean does it do that aside from two characters having a gay kiss?

It was a mishmash tearjerker that had too many Ken and Barbie scenes, Lotso the bear character was boring, and the near-smelting is an animation cliché.

"Its not Tim Allen" Tim Allen not being in it certainly didn't help, there's no getting around that. "tons of franchise movies are soaring." This wasn't a direct sequel to the Toy Story films, it was a spinoff, so it would make sense people aren't as interested. Hey remember that animated spinoff series about Buzz Lightyear on ABC? Oh wait you don't? Yeah nobody does, because it was a forgetable spinoff that nobody cared about, it had nothing to do with the main series. "It that the movie shoves a hard woke agenda" You mean a scene with one kiss on the cheek that you could blink and miss it? "and people are getting tired of being "programmed"." Uh except The Batman had an LGBT woman as the second main character and that movie made an obscene amount of amount of money. Try again. "Why everyone here is dancing around this issue, I don't know." Probably because it's very unlikely one brief kiss on the cheek scene that you could easily miss is the reason the film tanked. No one's "dancing around it".

Children’s entertainment for the past decade has been featuring same sex relationships. How is it anymore inappropriate than this?

Many people feel heterosexuality is natural and while homosexuality should be allowed it is not something that should be promoted especially in kids movies. Agree or disagree if you want but many don’t want to explain that stuff to their kids

Explain how it does. Is the movie about gay marriage? Keep in mind that unlike you, I've actually seen it.

Would you care to explain what exactly is so inappropriate about a gay couple in a children’s film? Children’s entertainment for the past decade has been featuring same sex relationships. How is it anymore inappropriate than this? Many people feel heterosexuality is natural and while homosexuality should be allowed it is not something that should be promoted especially in kids movies. Agree or disagree if you want but many don’t want to explain that stuff to their kids "Many people feel heterosexuality is natural" What does that matter? Many people also feel interracial marriage is "unnatural" should we also cater to those sentiments? Also I don't really care about "feelings", I care about facts (you know that thing Ben Shapiro supposedly cares about), and as someone already pointed out homosexuality occurs in nature. And even if it didn't, it wouldn't matter, that's just an appeal to nature fallacy, so it's a garbage argument either way. "it is not something that should be promoted especially in kids movies. One kiss on the cheek is hardly "promoting it". Also by your reasoning should hetero couples also not be allowed in children's films? After all having straight couples is "promoting" hetero behavior to children. Do you see the problem with this argument? "Agree or disagree if you want but many don’t want to explain that stuff to their kids" Explain what to their kids? That gay people exist? it's 2022, they're probably already aware of that. It's not a very difficult concept to explain ("Some women like other women"), that's pretty much it. You don't need to explain the actual act of gay sex anymore than you would to explain straight sex to them. Again this argument could just as easily be applied to racist parents and interacial couples ("I don't want to have to explain this degenerate behavior to my kids!").
