Maybe 9-7. Why? Well, I have confidence in the guys running the offense. McVay got two 4,000 yard seasons out of Kirk Cousins. The new OC was instrumental in Atlanta's high-powered offense. Greg Olsen, the new QB coach, somehow managed to get a 35-touchdown season out of Blake freaking Bortles of all people, so Jared Goff's situation has definitely improved significantly. Plus the defense will be improved under Wade Phillips.
I think the LA Rams will be the most improved team next year. What do you think?

What do you think? they've had a decent 'D'. that was going to be my question to you after reading the title thread. do they go in with Goff Game #1 as the starter. they better. they have to. what's your feel on the division? cards were everyone's darling and disappointed. 'hawks have been the heavyweight recently but don't you think they're trending downward? 9ers stink. i'd love to see the Rams make a run and would be nice to see Goff prove the haters wrong and have a nice Sophomore season.

Tough start to the schedule. Indy, Washington, at SF, then Dallas and Seattle. Cross country road trip to Jacksonville (should be easy game, then off to London with the Cards. After the bye, the Giants. Not brutal, but not that easy. It all depends if Jared Goff is a quality QB or Jared Goof. If they start bad, will the team consider tanking? Normally, I'd say no, but Sam Darnold awaits in the 2018 draft. He's a top flight QB and the Rams would love to have a big name USC product running the offense.

At San Fran? Are they all of the sudden the Bill Walsh 9ers with Montana, Young and Rice since they fired Chip Kelly? Dallas and Seattle? Haven't looked at Dallas's schedule or Seattle's but who knows what games they're coming off of and I'm willing to bet Dallas was a mirage last year and Seattle is on the downturn too and they've recently played poor against the Rams. Jacksonville blows. And I was a Bortles fan. Cards? They were everybody's darling last year and disappointed. Giants? What is Eli 45 this year? Ok - they'll finish 8-8 and we'll see him in the Super Bowl That's a cake schedule in my eyes to go along with their division schedule. I think if I was an L.A. fan - I'd be elated if they went 6-10 and you saw something in Goff that made you think he was your QB of the future.

And suddenly the Sheep are better than Indy and Washington? Must be the epic draft class they had. I guess they will be 8-0, right? I'll try again. If they start out 1-4 and Goff looks like crap, will they consider tanking to be in a position to take Sam Darnold? Darnold might be the best QB prospect in a long time. Better than Goff, better than Winston or Mariotta, Better than Cam. maybe better than Ollie Luck. And he's from USC. He's mature, polished (and only 10 starts, I'll admit). If he has an epic season, the Rams would see Darnold as a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The rest of the division doesn't impress me. Arizona won't get any better and San Francisco is still going to suck. I predict Seattle will win the division, but they are heading downward.

"Indy" Andrew Luck is coming off shoulder surgery and the Rams are at home. Winnable game "Washington" Kirk Cousins is going to come crashing back to Earth without McVay to make him look like a superstar. Another winnable game "at SF" I'm sorry, but did we just travel back to 1989? The Niners haven't gotten any better. Again, this is not the same Rams team from a year ago that couldn't score to save their lives. Another winnable game, "then Dallas" I'll give you that one. Clear cut loss here. "and Seattle" The Rams have had Seattle's number repeatedly over recent years. Plus this is a home game. Winnable game. They could just as easily start 4-1. This is not a "tough" schedule.

Wait, this is the 4-12 Rams I watched last year, right? The team that was 1-11, with only a 9-6 win against the putrid Jets, right? The team that didn't have a 1st round draft pick, right? The team that counts the big off season acquisition as Robert Woods, right (I'm a Bills fan, he sucks). Yeah, the coaches are better. Do they have the material to work with? Goff could be improved, he could be Tim Couch. I'm not seeing the new pieces in LA to warrant a ton on optimism, sorry.

Foreskins will finish dead last in the NFC East this year....... everyone talks about 'division rivals' - as an Eagles fan i get geared up for the Cowboys and Giants - the Deadskins - it's like 'meh - we're playing the Jaguars this week'.............

Yeah, they could be 4-1. They could go 16-0. But they won't. Sorry, I don't see the addition of a couple assistant coaches turning this team into Lombardi's Packers. It's still the team that was a pathetic 4-12.
