The supernatural shocker 'The Leech Woman' is directed by Edward Dein and features music from Irving Gertz. It's a scientific nightmare and a safari adventure that also serves as a political tract on the evils of slavery.
Endocrinologist Doctor Paul Talbot (Phillip Terry) might have found a perfect solution to hang on to his unhappy wife June (Coleen Gray). Mysterious lady Malla (Estelle Hemsley) claims she holds the secret to eternal youth and she's preparing for a very special ritual with the Nando tribe in Africa. But why has Malla been dreaming of June?
'The Leech Woman' is a b movie favourite performed by top talent. Coleen Gray delivers a tour de force as desperate housewife June Talbot who'll stop at nothing to be young again. Phillip Terry and Grant Williams are rock solid as friendly adversaries. Gloria Talbott, Kim Hamilton and Estelle Hemsley prove to be visually arresting in entirely different ways as unscrupulous women on the make. I read online that 'The Leech Woman' was put into production by Universal Pictures to be theatrically distributed as part of a double bill with 'The Brides Of Dracula' (1960) but I don't know if this is true.
"I read alot of sci-fi when I was a child. My father used to read Analog Science Fiction magazines and he'd leave them all over the house and these stories were about reality splitting in two. All of a sudden we're having a nice wonderful day and then suddenly there's something weird happens and you're whisked into another dimension. I got the sense that reality was very, very thin and any moment it could just crack apart and you could fall through the hole."

"Every human being has within them a field - an eternal field, a big treasury - called The Self. It's pure consciousness. Within each one of us is unbounded intelligence, pure creativity, happiness, love, energy, power and peace. When you truly transcend, you experience this deepest level and you infuse some every time you experience it. It's so good for the human being."
