Opinion does not equal complaining though. What would you have people do, just never say anything negative about these movies... Ever?? NO WORK OF ART IS EVER ABOVE ANALYSIS, NITPICKING OR DISCUSSION! That is not what film or any other medium is about. That is not art. That's zealotry. Maybe you should start a Marvel based religion... ... Marvelology "And the prophet Stark said unto the Avengers: Assemble. Thor is mighty. Praise Mjolnir!"Ok, so just take a moment to realize you're reacting to an extreme statement on my part.
Now realize your statement was extreme to begin with, which is why I responded in kind.
Thanos a purple blob?
I'm happy to respond reasonably to a reasonable concern, but you didn't post a reasonable concern. If you would like some specific design for Thanos, then articulate that. But don't post hyberbole and then act like the person who responds to you is being the unreasonable one.
Now, did you have some particular concern with Thanos' look, because I'm of the opinion he looks fine. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts if we can move on.
My thoughts: I find the design to be bland and un-iconic. In addition to that I'm not a big fan of cartoonish looking CGI characters. Also, I generally dislike the idea of a humanoid alien that speaks English. Also I prefer more grounded character driven stories like Civil War to the whole alien invasion thing. The problem of course stems from the comics and not specifically with the movies. Generally speaking, I just don't have confidence that he will be the ultimate MCU baddie that he's hyped up to be. I may be wrong... For the record I'd be glad to be. I want these movies to be great. Now, let's move on by agreeing that The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is a classic film and Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez is an awesome character. 👍🏻

All I'm saying is I prefer to enjoy every aspect of what the MCU has accomplished. I don't derive joy out of nitpicking true works of art that have earned appreciation, and the MCU is the greatest comic film achievement, and one of the very greatest film achievements of all time. It has earned a respect level above nitpicking it, and I truly don't understand the person that needs to find things to complain about with it. I'm not trying to start anything again, but I think he means exactly what I meant with the other villain thread. Marvel makes good or even great movies. When you walk out of a good movie, say 90% of the movie was perfect to you, then you want to first talk about the 10% that didn't work. There's no need to talk about the good stuff until you understand what the bad stuff was. When you leave a bad movie, say 80% of it sucked, then you talk about the good. Get the little stuff out of the way so you can understand why you loved something or hated it. That's my take on it. And again, Marvel has set the bar high. The executives want us to find the flaws and nitpick so they can fix it. You can tell that you liked a movie when you have to start nitpicking it to find something you didn't like.

Stating things that didn't work in a movie doesn't mean I'm trying to drag them through the mud. I do it with all my favorites.

I'd argue it is truly one of the very best ever, and there's nothing more fun than listening to a hang man read off a long list of charges against poor Tuco.
So, my first reaction to what you wrote is fair enough. My second is that so many times I see people go into films with personal expectations which can't possibly all be met, and I would advise you not think of him as the ultimate MCU baddie. Just let it play out. As long as they deliver a strong well acted story that capitalizes on the characters and story arcs they've built, that's really all that matters. "I wanted this" should never be used as a complaint against a film, and I hear that type of complaint against films way too much. It's their vision, and I go in trying to understand what they are going for, instead of expecting my vision to play out. I find I enjoy films much more that way.
Regarding his design, IDK. He seems fine to me, but they always seem to update looks as well.

I'd stop going to movies with somebody who did that.
I agree that there is a place for nitpicking, but rolling out cliché's that they have a "villain" problem, or that Iron Man 2 sucks, are just so tiring to hear. They're villains are awesome, and so was Iron Man 2. I truly don't get some of these criticisms.

I'm saying that when a movie is good, the flaws stick out because you've already seen what you've liked. The good parts fix themselves. Obviously when I walk out of a theater (literally right after the movie) I'm talking about the coolest parts.

I guess what I'd say is I'm not one of these "every movie has flaws" people. I honestly can't think of anything I'd point to as a genuine flaw in the entire MCU.
When I saw flaw, I mean something they messed up on.

When I saw flaw, I mean something they messed up on. The only thing that the MCU has really messed up for me is Antman. Not the character overall, but the solo movie back in '15. The scenes where he was tiny? They were incredible. Yet, we only had one or two actually cool action scenes when he was small (and one came at the very end). I'm in the minority with that sentiment, but Antman is still the only Marvel movie to date that I find unwatchable. Hopefully the sequel will have more "little" action sequences.

Yeah I loved that movie. I don't see anything messed up in it. There's a difference between you wanting something else, and them messing up, and I think they pretty much nailed what they were going for, which is a win in my book.

Amen, I'd hate that the first thing that someone said to me after for instance avengers was "the color scheme was a bit bland wasn't it?" I would be, shut the fuck up. And Thanos looks like the comics so he looks amazingly good. Purple blob... ppppffft That ackbar guy is ready to go to tosche station and get some power converters...

Sometimes it seems like these youtube review sites feel like it's their job to find things to complain about, and some fans seem to think the same thing too. As though they're obligated to be able to articulate things they hated about movies they love. Which is really weird to me. I don't feel the need to do that. I just love movies I love.
I came to a rather good end with Akbar. I pointed out his purple blob comment deserved the reaction I gave it, and he seemed to get that and we moved on.

I know right? i come here to discuss what i like about the movies and end up having to scroll through endless threads about the negative. fuck the negative, i love these movies and i'm not apologizing to anyone. everybody i kow irl at least likes and talks about these movies in a positive way.even those with a sense of its no my thing but i must admit this was pretty good or fun. i took three 40 ish women to see Dr. strange, women that have no contact with sh thinking what have i done? they are going to hate me, guess what they liked very much or loved the movie. Co-Workers that weren't fans of marvel went to see avengers at my recomendation (but i didnt see any, i dont like sh, these kinds of person) now whenever one comes out we go see it opening night and just have fun outside the office. (the drinks aferwards help also) So yeah it irks me that when i come here its the opposite of what i experience. these are good, fun movies that the positive far, far outweigh the negative. fun story took the missus to see bvs, she was so disappointed it was no fun at all. had to explain it wasn't part of the mcu, same with some others. apocalypse im looking at you. finnaly and for my satisfaction she cried like a baby in gotgv2 when yondu dies . weird taking satisfaction in that but it shows that they are doing something right that people care about these characters.
