Like with Dragnet (1987), it's a movie I grew up with watching on HBO. A fun sci-fi comedy with good work from Martin Short and Dennis Quaid. Probably runs about 20 minutes too long, but the visual effects hold up pretty well. Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Innerspace (1987) - 2.5 out of 4 stars
"Diverting tale of rambunctious Navy test pilot (Quaid) who undergoes miniaturization experiment and is accidentally injected into the body of hypochondriac Short. Heady combination of science fiction and comedy, with an off-the-wall sensibility that keeps things unpredictable...though tightening would have helped. Short is a delight as the comic hero. Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects."

Fun movie, and I'm not really a fan of Martin Short. Joe Dante had a good run in the 80s.

Haven’t seen it but the plot screams 80s ( a plot that sounds like it was conceived while on cocaine)
