Not even knowing monk was top of the list or even in the running I stated I wanted him as soon as i heard the BIG FAT fck was gone. If i find out there is a very genuine reason for him leaving football thats fine. But he messed England about and know palace - My two teams. So its got to be one hell of an excuse to get back in my good books.
He is saying he will never manage again.... Well maybe he wont , but if its to make millions from asian business men then he can do one.
My belief is - he will make a statement come December giving it the interest again to save a club from relegation and take the highest offer possible(with a team that will have the resources to spend to stay up in the window)
Why work a full year, when you can earn the same in half?
I also wouldn't mind Pardew back (in theory that he works hard - which is very much a faint theory)- as he will stick about. He is a proper palace at heart lad who will not leave the area. so its his ideal job.
But he needs to get his head on the game. I swear he is a much better manager than his results suggest. you can tell Pardew or Big sam just chill out or do dodgy deals and managing is only 30% of his life - with people like pep or Mourinhio its 100%..
So yeah Monk all the way - I like his style as well. It would require a mix up in the squad - but some would suit.
