Oh, Thank you, thank you! I went up to Portland for a few days, and "unplugged," from most things. It was a great time. I took Amtrak, with a sleeper car, and just watched the beauty of the Cascades, and the northwest US go by. I caught up with some school friends from Willamette. I got home, only a little while ago ... still feeling the rocking of the train. Your well-wishes are most appreciated!  |

I did that once from Switzerland to Portugal. What a trip! Can't remember what I ate but I know food was only available short amount of time, it seemed expensive in Francs, and was NOT normal American fare. 🤔 |

I love riding on trains. And, the Amtrak Coast Starlight, which runs Los Angeles-Seattle, is beautiful. For overnight trips, I book a "roomette," which comfortable and private ... it includes meals, as well.
I agree that the train is the best way to experience travel through Europe.
