Both conference championship series stand at 3-0; seems to be a foregone conclusion that the Panthers and Golden Knights will be competing in the Stanley Cup Final. Just like we all predicted 10 years ago. south florida must be going crazy with the heat and panthers success

Florida Panthers are not messing around. They beat an historic Bruins team, dispatched the Leafs with ease and swept a very strong Canes squad. Hard to pick between them and Vegas but a Panthers Cup should surprise nobody at this point.

And if Columbus doesn't tie Pittsburgh with 3:25 left in the finale, Penguins would have been in and Florida out of the playoffs. Johnny Goudreau scores the OT winner for Columbus.

6-0.
This may be a hot take, but I don’t think there will be a game 7.

TheGoodMan19 imagine if you were told back in 2015 that Jack Eichel would reach the SCF before Connor McDavid... Umm, no
Eichel got a bad rap here. No matter how you looked at his game, it was always "He's not Connor McDavid". Buffalo put so much into getting CM. He was "that player", a Lemieux, an Ovechkin, a Crosby. And they had to settle for Jack. Eichel had a better rookie year than McDavid. But the next year, Eichel had a ton of niggling injuries and McDavid scored 100 points. The Sabres labelled him as a whiner and a baby and he was doomed here. Al least thee Sabres got a lot in return. Alex Tuch is a sweet player Peyton Krebs is very useful. And Eichel fell into a good situation in Vegas. Good for him.
Beware the Sabres next season. And be very afraid in 2024-25. GM Kevyn Adams had made two awesome trades. The Eichel deal and the trade of Jeff Skinner to St. Louis for Tage Thompson. They have two #1 overalls on defense, Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power. Goaltending was the problem last season (along with youth) but remember the name Devon Levi. He's only 21 but could be very special. Another great trade, sending disappointing Sam Reinhart (they took him #2 in 2014 and passed on Leon Draisaitl, ouch) to Florida for this kid. If he's ready mentally the Sabres are sure to end the fucking embarrassing playoff drought and in a couple season, be a true threat.

Not really fair as McDavid sustained a season-ending injury halfway through the year and still finished only 8 points behind Eichel, who played the full season bar one game. Being drafted 2nd after McDavid means Eichel will always be in his shadow, and as players there's no comparison - but then, Eichel is in the Cup Final and McDavid isn't, so there's that. Teams win in hockey, not players. I'd like to see the Sabres rise again; I was fond of them when they had Ryan Miller in net.

Edmonton has three 100 point players and can't make a dent in the playoffs.
Been a Sabres fan since the days of the French Connection. But the playoff drought has taxed my patience. Terry and Kim Pegula own the team and the Bills. It's seemed to me that they pay more attention to the Bills. I get that, the NFL is bigger than the NFL. Some of those season the Sabres couldn't have competed in the AHL and seemed to be going through the motions. This was the first year in the last five where I went to a game. I wasn't apathetic toward the Bills during the playoff drought. They have such a young core that the future looks so bright

Neither of tonight’s starting goalies were in those roles at the start of the playoffs. Both came in relief of the designated starters and eventually held onto the jobs with lights-out play. One was undrafted (Granted, still a two-time Vezina winner) and the other was a journeyman.
The most important position in sports.

Puck don't lie.
Refs should have called a penalty on Hill. So he put the puck in his own goal when Vegas had the power play.
