I wonder what the shocking news is that Shawn discovers?
As a big Lumi fan, last week’s episodes were hard for me to watch. It’s so sad that we Lumi fans will never see them get their happy ever after. Alison just won’t commit to the show for more than a few weeks a year so this is what we’re stuck with.
I’m curious who the next suspect will be that gets called in? I’m wondering if it’s Xander?
I haven’t finished last week’s episodes yet because I have been watching Beyond Salem 2. I loved all the characters that were brought back for this event. And, while I thought parts of it were pretty cheesy, overall it was a lot of fun. I really like how the writer did Hope justice in this miniseries. She was actually the Hope that first started on the show. And, I loved the flashbacks.

It has to be Sarah that is the latest suspect. On Monday's show she told JJ she has hallucinations of murdering Kristen...
I still haven't seen any Beyond Salem but looking forward to watching it and seeing how it played out. Hopefully soon!

I saw something, I think on the Days Facebook page, that piqued my curiosity about what I believe is the last scene; and had to look it up on YouTube. Not enough to make me watch the miniseries, but - very interesting.
On the Lumi side of things, the thoughts occurs to me - do they really need to explain people's absences all the time? I mean, yeah, it's sometimes months between Alison's appearances, but if that's the mutual understanding between the show and the audience, can't she just be in the ether and then she's back and just not acknowledge that we haven't seen her if it's not relevant to the plot? Sure, there are times when they have people inexplicably absent from stuff they shouldn't be, weddings, funerals, but there are plenty of people, family members that I can go weeks or even months without seeing; and we don't have some long expositional thing about how they went on some sort of secret mission to the moon to explain why I haven't seen them. We've just been mutually going about our lives, which didn't intersect.

They basically do that with Justin and Bonnie, Victor, etc right now...I don't see why they can't do that with Sami either. But I guess in the current situation if Sami was in a relationship with EJ, what would they do with him if she's always offscreen? This is why Ben is gone, because Victoria wanted to leave and they didn't want to break up Cin. So now RSW is coming back as Alex Kiriakis. Ugh.

I guess I keep looking at it from the same perspective I've had for years; which is that they need to stop making all of the frickin stories solely revolve around everyone's romantic relationships. They're never going to do that, but that's the main part of their problem. If someone's character isn't in a romantic relationship, or their partner isn't there to make googly eyes at each other, they have nothing to do on the show. And don't get me wrong, romance is in the DNA of a soap, you can't remove that, but they've condensed to the point where that's all there is; and it's dumb. They don't tell worthwhile or compelling stories anymore, because it gets in the way of watching people mope and have the same conversation about why so-and-so does or doesn't love them anymore 500 times. Imagine if we actually saw the doctors, lawyers, cops and international spies doing their jobs to any significant degree, and using that as an organic background that would inform the interpersonal and romantic relationships they have.

Cheaper to just have everyone stand around talking about what they did instead of showing us what they did lol
