In 1995, Protestant born-again Americans published the first book in their tale of a dangerous con man who gains power as a dictator, becomes a friend of Russia, and wins over a great part of Christianity to revere and obey him in place of Christ.

I predict that if I drop this apple, it will fall to the ground.
*drops apple, apple falls to ground*
I'm a prophet.

Interesting premise, but, nobody just suddenly disappears right into thin air. Therefore, not as prophetic as it appears.

Interesting premise, but, nobody just suddenly disappears right into thin air. Therefore, not as prophetic as it appears. Apparently, that's MAY not true... And I've heard of other cases as well... Here's one: Sure, these cases may be hard to verify, especially because we didn't see these events for ourselves... But our world is a stranger place than many people know or want to admit to, and unless we can prove these stories are hoaxes or the people are lying about what actually happened... It may actually be possible... As far as I know they haven't been debunked, and I find it hard to believe that people would lie about what happened to loved ones, that they wish were still with them... And so, I am open minded to the possibility, for now.

There’s a difference between saying the world is strange (which is just another way of saying “we don’t know things”) and asserting that something which defies the laws of physics happened! These stories don’t need to be “debunked” in order for a rational mind to reject them. They need to be PROVED before a rational mind accepts them. You should have an attitude of skepticism, especially with respect to extraordinary claims (which demand extraordinary evidence). But you shouldn’t be open-minded to impossible things happening. That’s not being open-minded, that’s being gullible! The default position should be that NOBODY has ever vanished into thin air. Until such time as there is evidence supporting such a claim, it should be rejected.
