#/media/File:JAWS_Movie_poster.jpg)  Jaws - His greatest. While Duel paved some of this runway, this for me is Spielberg's opus - lack of experience enabled the most freeing production of his career. As is the case for most all debuts.  Raiders of the Lost Ark - I'd wondered if George Lucas' involvement is cheating, & yet nope lols. Delivered the adventure movie of all-time, & can't really ever be topped.  E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial - Spielberg's hallmark film, his signature.  Schindler's List - showed that he could direct anything on supreme scale.

Vaguely in order:     Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Schindler’s List are significant honorable mentions. In general, I much prefer Spielberg in his light-comedy mode. |
