Both are quite good. With Nicholson in every scene of Chinatown, it’s very much his movie. By contrast, L.A. Confidential is much more an ensemble piece. I think I may give this one to Curtis Hanson.   |

Very close, but I give the edge to Chinatown for being the more interesting movie.
L.A. Confidential is more entertaining though.
