I did. Picture looked like crap. I should've known better really. Or maybe there's a proper way to do it with good results that I don't know about.
I don't suppose anyone here has done just that?
The Wii, which had an av output looked fine. And the wii U which also has av output looked fine, depending on what game I play though. But the switch, which is the first system they have without a built in av output... looks worse than both using a converted av output.

The Wii came out at a time CRT TVs were still very much a thing and arguably looks better on one than it does on a HD flatscreen TV. The Wii U was backwards compatible with the Wii so still needed to look ok on a CRT. The Switch is purely aimed at modern TVs.
