What could they POSSIBLY have to gain 'watering down' each and every season, by stretching it out over nearly 75% of a FULL YEAR ?? SAVE FERRIS

You think NBA and NHL have seasons that run on? You sure don't know anything about NASCAR. They start in the beginning of February...and end in the final weeks of November.
You want to talk about % of the year a sport runs? NASCAR runs 84% of the year!

So is the 82 game schedule plain greed or do you truly need that many for the best teams to emerge? Despite the fact you allow over half the teams to make the playoffs anyway....
